2005 Silver 4R SR5 w/ Black Plasti Dip Grill

Hmmm....well, this makes me want to do some experimentation. I've been wanting to black out the center hump section of my hood and thought of using matte vinyl. Thing with that is if you don't like it, you're out the $70 for the vinyl.

With the Plasti-Dip, you can spray it on and if you don't like it, it's just as forgiving as the vinyl and you peel it off. I'll have to do some test pieces though to make sure it both stays on the clearcoat well enough to last, and would still peel off cleanly from the clearcoat surface.

I plasti dipped my grill yesterday. It looks great and it was super easy. The only yhing was the nozzle on the plasti dip was kinda bad so it came out just a tad uneven but once it dried it looked fine.

The cheesy factory chrome grill on mine is so stupid looking, and this is a cost effective way to take care of it

2006 SE Plasti Grille

I did my front grille, emblem and Hella500 covers over the weekend. It took less than hour to spray/dry/mount. It is awsome stuff.

Hey interstates, it's been a couple months since you plasti-diped your wheels. How's it holding up? I'm thinking of doing something similar. I already did the emblems!

Ok, so i decided to jump on the bandwagon and Plasti-dip as well, after seeing your 4Runner. Hard to tell from the pics, but does the finish have more of a powdercoated like feel after the fact, and how long did it take for it to set. I did 4 coats over a 3 hr period, and it has been a few hours but it still seems a bit fragile.
