2006 Head Unit Upgrade

I have a 2006 Sport with the JBL Factory upgrade sound system. I had the Kenwood DNX6960 installed 3-4 years ago. I just got the iPhone 6+ and my Kenwood doesn't support it. My question is if I upgrade to a new Kenwood head unit will it be simply removing old unit and put new unit in? Thanks.
