2006 Limited - Rear-seat Audio Available

To all of you 2006 Limited 4Runner owners -- can anyone confirm there is an option for Rear-Seat Audio in your truck? I've read the Toyota site, and it appears to me its an option, but I've read here that it might have been removed in the '06 models.

I have an '05 Limited with 6CD/10 spkr JBL Synthesis audio. The reason I'm asking is I'm thinking of upgrading my stereo to a '06 4Runner E7008 Nav unit and would like to confirm that unit will support the rear-seat audio option. [I'm not talking about the rear-seat DVD entertainment option, just audio.] Hey, I bought the option and I have a couple of wireless headphones for the kids, so I'd like to keep using them....!!

I have an '06 Limited with Nav and it does not have the rear seat audio. In fact the '06 Nav does not have the option of 10 speaker system either, you get 8 speakers, and two mirrors. The '06 Limiteds I looked at that had the 6 disc changers rather then the Nav still had the 10 speakers, but I did not notice if they had rear seat audio. I am not sure what effect the RSES has on the Nav system, w/regard to rear seat audio and 10 speakers.

Rear seat audio was deleted for 2006. 2004 and newer 4Runners with navigation have 8-speakers, camera and the mirrors. Only the 2003s with navigation have 10-speakers. I'm not sure about the integration of the rear seat audio on 2003-05 4R's with nav. The 2006 RSES with nav will allow for DVD playback on the nav screen.

The only available options for the 2006 on the Limited trim were:
-side and curtain airbags
-moonroof
-rear seat DVD
-navigation
-spoiler
-DRLs
-tow hitch (V6)
-JBL Synthesis w/ 6-disc changer and 10-speakers
-third row seats
-rear air suspension w/ X-REAS (V8)
-X-REAS

The 2006 RSES with nav will allow for DVD playback on the nav screen.

Only when the vehicle is not moving and the parking brake is activated. RSES has wireless headphones for audio. You can choose alternate audio source for speakers than headphones. I think the headphones only work with DVD player though. Have'nt used them yet.

Actually, I had 10 speakers (without the mirrors) in my 2004 Limited with Nav, not 8. I also had the rear seat audio (never used).
