Finally got around to retrofitting my old morimoto d2s 2.0's into some new headlights. My old headlights were cloudy and really hampering the light output. Now I'm back to crisp cutoffs and abundant light.

did you just swap lens and bezel or whole housing?

I placed my old morimoto projectors into a new housing. My old housings were super cloudy and the morimotos were still in good condition. I was about to pull the trigger on Rx350 projectors, but why spend another $300 if what I have works well.

I'll try and snap some output shots at night to show the improvement.

would you practice retrofiting the rx330 projectors on the old housing? using new lens and bezel on new lights. i dont think the 350 will work, seems too big. but can happen if you find a used projector.

Apparently you can throw the rx350 with TRS adapter plate onto Toyotas with H11 mounting points...some trimming required still.

you mean that? i can see the top might work, but still need to glue in place at the bottom, man, now you got me thinking about this, i was going to use this for my girls 2011 camry.
but the rx350 non afs Direct Fitment:2010+ Toyota 3" H11 Applications (Non AFS only)

Still waiting for spring to arrive before throwing on the new suspension, just leaving in winter mode.

February warmth on the front range provided what seemed to be an opportunity to camp with some new gear. High winds picked up after sunset, testing that new gear past its element. Winter camping reminded me of the power of the mountains, and the privilege of calling them home.

I am planning on building up the 4runner in preparation for a few big trips this spring. Thanks to this forum over the years I was finally able to piece together the ride I always thought would never happen. Owning this vehicle has opened up a lot of new learning experiences - from research, to deal finding, to trip planning, driving technique, and new adventures of areas.

First up was to replace the front end with new Mevotech lower control arms with new lower ball joints. The stock ones were starting to get some play in the lower bushings.

Next, we installed the Fox 2.5 coilover with remote resi's and dsc. I'd have to say, the install on these were very straight forward and already improvement over my last set up.






In the rear, we swapped in the Icon Overland multi rate springs to help support the new CBI rear bumper and swing out. I am pairing these with the Fox 2.5 Tundra rear shocks with remote resi and dsc. We ran into an issue mounting the rear resi's since the hose on these is only 16 inches. We decided to not install these until I can get extended 23 inch hoses to mount further back on the frame rail. Otherwise, the 16 inch wouldn't allow for enough room to comfortable run these at full droop.







Once I get the CBI rear bumper, Ill mount that up with the spare tire, water cans, and hi jack.

Doug Thorley headers get installed in 2 weeks...the manifold leak is ridic.

New wheels back there too? Let us know how you like the mevotech arms. My rebuilt OEM arms with moog bushings and ball joints clunk occasionally (from the rear bushing location) and it drives me insane.

No new wheels yet, this was taken in my friends garage - those are his. The Mevotechs look fine for now, and at $128 a piece that's a good deal.

Have you had any bearing related issues with the wheel spacers? How many miles do you have on them?

Ive been on the this forum for a few years now, scouting on builds and threads for ideas and such. You sir, not only have one of the cleanest builds on here.. but your picture spread is top notch.
2 years ago I did a cross country trip with a buddy moving from cali back to ny and we had to drive his chevy cruze. When we got into utah/colorado.. not only is it by far the best looking part of the country but i basically spent the entire time thinking of a way I can get the time in my life where my truck will be modded enough to make the trip out there and do what you have been able to do without time constraint or responsibilities getting in the way.

What the hell do you do to be able do these things? lol

Haha, thanks for the compliments. I owe most of the inspiration to this very forum. I think I've viewed this forum every day for the past 6 years, no joke.

After growing up in Seattle and then school in Flagstaff, I knew the only way to really capitalize on all the areas I liked to visit was to move closer. Colorado offers everything I was looking for (besides horrible traffic up I70). Key to building up a vehicle is take your time. It's expensive as all getup modding these things, but over time things come together. My current job allows me to get discounts on a lot of vendor parts, which helps, and meeting other forum members is allowing for cheaper labor/learning leasons.

At the end of the day, the mods I'll be doing in April are total overkill...but the truck is paid off, you live once, and dammit i want to complete the vision that started 6 years ago.

Agreed - last time we tried to sync up I was busy. We'll have to organize a day trip later this summer.
