Newbie here. Just purchased 4Runner and woke up this morning to it not starting. When I I turned the key it simply clicked and the starter never engaged. Is this just a battery issue? All the lights and AC came on when I put keys in ignition.

If it is manual transmission (stick shift), make certain the clutch is FULLY pressed to the floorboard then try again. Check the terminals for corrosion, clean them with sandpaper or wire brush. If that doesn't work, have the battery tested. Lastly would be the starter which are usually bullet proof. I'd have a reputable shop look at it before buying a starter.

Check your battery voltage and the connections to it. Remove them and wirebrush/steel wool to take away any corrosion. Also check the positive connection to the starter for corrosion. I just had the same symptoms and at first a new battery fixed it, but then I had to clean the connections to the starter.
