On my 4runner 2006 I put NGK Laser Iridium 4904 ILFR6T-11 .044

This is for a Tacoma but it is the same engine and 99.5% the same setup in the engine bay as our runners.

Recommendation: do some research here before choosing your plugs. IIRC, and someone like [MENTION=66389]BlackWorksInc[/MENTION] knows better than I, there are compelling reasons to stick with the OEM plugs and change them at the recommended 30K as opposed to using the long-like iridiums. Sorry I can't recall the specifics, it's been a while since I did my plugs, but it's worth sorting out.

I just changed my spark plugs with the OEM Denso's on my '06 2wd v6 - they work great. I noticed that on plug 6 there was a little bit of oil on it. do any of you know what could cause that? everything else is working fine. I really don't want to take it into the dealership for their opinion.

If it really is oil, and not coolant or fuel, then I'd suspect compromised piston rings. That's the only way for oil to get into the cylinder.

Big thanks!! turning wrenches at 64 yrs is fun. not like the days you can get to plugs easy. Driver's side sure was a pain. runs great now!

Where exactly on the plug did you find the oil, on the threads or on the electrode/insulator?

If on the threads, that's a non issue, at least not a big thing to worry about, if on the electrode/insulator then that is indeed an issue to be concerned about, if indeed it's oil you most llikely have a bad oil ring on the piston, sometimes the plug could be wet with coolant and may seem to be oil, if this is the case most likely suspect is the head gasket.

I replaced mine with the OEM because whenever I'd start her up, she would give me a rough idle for about 30 seconds. I figured not all of the plugs were firing. After I replaced them, everything was fine!
