2007 Sequoia - 2007 Toyota 4Runner

Hello

why does the sequoia 4.7 V8 have 40 more horsepower than a 4.7 4Runner
both are 2007 , also why does the 4Runner tow 800 more lbs, these are from there online spec sheets ????????????

I think the 4runner tows more because it is more truck based and has a solid rear axle. The Sequoia is more car based because it has independent suspension. But that's just my 2cents

Can you post links to these spec sheets? I'm not seeing a 40hp delta. Everything I see is in the 2-13 hp range (260hp to 271hp depending on the formula for the 4Runner and 273hp for the Sequoia). There is however about a 40hp difference between a V6 4Runner and Sequoia.

Also, I'm seeing about 500 lb difference in towing capacity between the variants (2wd vs 4wd). And I'm going to guess that the capacity is de-rated because the engine has to haul around the extra 800 lbs of the Sequoia.

This isn't true. The Sequoia is truck based as well. Based on the Tundra platform.

The new gen Sequoia has an independent rear axle, but the last gen was a solid rear. Still has the Tundra truck-based frame though (although there are significant differences between the two however).

Sidenote: That Sequoia with the 5.7 is a great ****ing tow truck. Great power and damn comfortable. It's just so......big, inside and out. I wish my 4R had that motor though.
