Just bought a boat and the factory 7 pin trailer harness was all battered up on my 4Runner so I decided to change it out. Grounded the plug to the trailer and all was fine. Driving my boat to the lake nd i notice my check transmission light, traction control light, airbag light, and Auto LSD lights are on. When I goto take my boat out of the water my 4Runner would'nt come out of reverse. When I tried to put it in drive it would just jump and rattle violently. First thought was I burned the transmission up. Unhooked the trailer and the 4Runner was magically back to its wonderful self again except all the lights were still on on the dash. I removed the positive side of the battery to reset the computer. This worked to remove all the lights except the airbag light, which isn't a big deal. My problem now lies with my blinkers. My hazards are fine, all 4 blinkers don't work. They won't even blink on the dash. The fuse is a Hazards/Blinkers so if the hazards are working then obviously its not a fuse. I really FUBAR'd something with that trailer hookup but I have no idea what. I have a feeling it has something to do with a ground but not sure, any suggestions? I removed the flasher relay (real PITA, btw) and hoping I just fried the relay somehow, anyway to check the pinout and make sure its good? or Should I just buy a new one and hope for the best. This certainly beats $3700 for a new transmission which I thought was going to be the scenario 3 hours ago. ANY help would be appreciated!! Thanks
Also, does anyone know where to buy a NON-LED relay? Im having a pretty hard time finding one...?
