I like it. This one looks better than the concept, though the concept has some nice features, built-in ramp and a hidden panel with power points, etc. The silver on the dash is a bit goofy though.

I don't think they should've offered the 4.0 V6 in the Tundra though. I love to see more specs on the 5.7 V8.

Who in the world needs the ability to tow over 10k lbs??? I think it was REALLY comical when I pulled into the last track event towing a friend's S2000 with my 4Runner... I was the smallest tow vehicle in a collection of duallies, full size 1500's with extended cabs, and even a 3500 Chevy winnebago pulling a Honda Civic... I laughed at all of them, knowing that I was able to do 80-85mph perfectly comfortably all the way (150 miles) up to the event that morning.

There is a whole other world/market that needs pick-ups that can pull a minimum of 10K lbs. Why do you think Toyota has never been able to topple the domestic pick-up market? Look at all the businesses that use full-sized pick-ups. Also there is the RV market, the 4.7 Tundra was less capable then the 4Runner for towing. I'm surprised it took Toyota this long to realize this market. The one thing that is sad about this is; I think this will be the nail in the coffin for the domestic pick-up market. I think this market was keeping the big three afloat.

When I think of pulling anything over ~7,000lbs, I am *NOT* thinking of doing it with a gasoline engine. I want a turbo diesel if I'm going to be doing that. Even the Chevrolet 2500 and 3500's with the 8.1L gasoline engine I think are rediculous. Who would want one of those things when they get 12-14mpg on the highway unloaded and 4-6mpg on the highway while towing (yes, one of my coworkers has an 8.1L 2500 Avalanche that he tows his 10,000lb cigar boat with and those are his mileage figures)?? The last time he was down here, he was shopping for a duallie with a turbo diesel so he could get into the double-digit mpg figures while towing (and have more power at the same time).

Not meaning to start any sort of arguments or anything, but I'm just sorta tired of seeing people in big vehicles that don't use them for what they are capable of (ever seen a Chevrolet Tahoe that doesn't even have a hitch receiver on it?? I see them all the time, and they are worthless because the owner of that vehicle could just as well get away with a smaller hatchback that gets 30+mpg...) I have the 4Runner because I use it and I make it earn its keep around my house.

My friend tows his 3-person waverunner with a 1-ton Dodge 3500 Cummins TD. You can't even see the waverunner when you back it into the lake, you have to let the tailgate down to see where you are going!! We always give him sh*t when we go to the lake, its pretty funny.

Anyways, Ricky, there are people who use that towing capacity regularily like construction workers, and in my part of the country, horse showing/raising. But I do agree that this is a much more efficient process with a diesel, which the word on the street is, will be released on the Tundra sometime in the next few years.

What will make this truck attractive to buyers in the short term, however, will be its likely increased fuel economy over its competition (F-150, Ram 1500, Silverado/Sierra 1500) with most likely a large torque advantage also. Not only that, the massive brakes and extremely stiff frame will make it seem much higher quality whether driving daily, or towing big loads.

It looks like an F150. Gotta say I like the current model better, and even the one before that. How big is the Titan going to get now? The trucks keep getting bigger, does that mean no one is in the 'small' pickup market?

Not a bad looking truck, but I'll stick with my 3rd gen.

I bet its at least 350 HP, probably more. I wonder if has vvt-i?? I wonder why no diesel option, Ford and Dodge can tow 11,500+ lbs in non-dually form with their diesel option. Maybe Toyota is waiting a year?

The 4.7 liter V8 has 270hp, which equates to 57.4 Hp/liter.

If the 5.7 has the same Hp to Liter ratio as the 4.7, then that means that the 5.7 would have (5.7 x 57.4) 327 Hp.

a 5.7 i-force sounds pretty good. i heard somewhere in the neighborhood of 330 ponies, looks likes its time to stand in line and trade in the good ol 4runner. and if they put a diesel in it even better.

It has a locking/dampered tail gate that requires two fingers to open and close. YES, those are 20" wheels. Looks like there is room for some cool aftermarket wheels in there!

Speaking of wheels, I wonder why Toyota went with 5 lug wheels on the new Tundra instead of the traditional and more common 6 lug? More aftermarket wheel options with 5 lug?
