2008 4Runner vs 1999 4Runner

I recently purchased a 2008 4Runner to replace my 1999 4Runner (4th gen for 3rd gen). The '99 had the factory tall suspension, which I later replaced with OMEs 906 in the rear. For just sake I took pictures of each truck side by side. I was amazed that the '08 was about 3" lower overall. My '99 has 128k on the front suspension and the rear was lifted only about 1" above stock. Also my '99 gains about 0.5" due to the 32s vs. 31s in the '08.
This motivates me for my next mod on my 2008: FJ springs + Bilsteins 5100 in each corner. I'll be happy with about 2" in front and 0.5ish in back. Now, let's hope I can find a good deal on those springs.
Other things to note: exhaust pipe exiting to the side in '99; gas tank much lower in '08 (which is a welcome compromise for the much needed extra gas); skid plates much tougher on '99. And.... I think the '99 tires sticking out look much better than the '08s. Even though the '08 is wider it looks skinnier.
I posted overexposed pictures to be able to show the underside.
