2008 Pwr Door Locks Failing

My dealer has already replaced 3 out of the four power door lock actuators and the 4th one just started to fail too.

Anyone else been through this? It's all happened in the 50-55k mile range.

At least they fail consistently.

I have an 07 Sport and both driver side are failing at 114,000. I bought the extended warranty last until 120,000 I wonder if it is covered?

As long as your warranty clause covers electronic items such as actuators you should be okay. Most extended warranties are very picky about those though, so I would check.

I had my extended warranty replace the $500 lumbar motor (turns out the motor was good, the lumbar bracket was bound up... oops? I got an extra motor out of it and an 1.0hr pay! ) in my seat because it was covered under seat mechanism and motors.

Also that is odd, I rarely have Toyota locks fail, seems like its starting to crop up more often though.

All 4 of mine failed within the 100K extended warranty, one or two (I forget) within the regular warranty. Must have been a bad batch. That particular part should last the life of the car given its low duty cycle.

Mine failed in this order... FL, RL, RR, FR

The first two I get, but the last two? Bassackwards.

I had the actuator begin to fail on my 04 driver's door. I had it programmed to unlock the rest of the doors after I opened mine and for some reason the added stress of opening the door while locked was problematic for the actuator. I looked into parts and actually bought a new actuator with full intentions of replacing it myself. In the meantime while I was waiting for it to ship I reprogrammed my locks so that everything unlocks when you put it in park. Haven't had a problem since, returned the part, and hopefully it'll last me at least a little bit longer. That was about a year ago, approx 8000 miles ago(97,000 miles on the truck at the time) . Don't know if it'll fix anything, but at the very least it delayed an expense for me.

I appreciate your wisdom, it is always great to have someone on the inside! I am actually going to the dealership in the morning and I will update you. The extended warranty has already paid for itself with some front end problems.(3400$ in repairs) Hopefully my luck will continue!
