2008 sr5 v6 starter contact and plunger part numbers- or where to buy?

Been trying to find solenoid starter contact and plunger replacement kit/parts for 2008 Toyota 4Runner SR5 V6.

Dealer told me it doesn't exist and there is no part number for it; said I had to replace entire starter.

Called several parts shops around town and no one has them for an '08. Looked online and I'm not having any luck...

My starter is fine, just need to replace contacts and plunger as I've had a few non-start up/ "click, click, click,click" as of late.

I'll swap the starter out myself if I have to, but I'd rather spend $20.00-50.00 than $250.00 on parts.

I'm still trying to figure out the part numbers to replace the contacts only. No one can help it seems. I tried to get the stealership to let me take apart na '08 starter to see the contacts and photo them- but of course they would not.

I'm about to just buy the contact/repair kit for a different year/model and see if I can make them work on my '08.

I really thought someone here would have gone through this before and be bale to help out.

Yes I did. Truck has been firing right up ever since I replaced them. Time will tell if that was the only thing causing my intermittent starting issue, but I'm feeling pretty good about it after seeing how worn out the contacts were and the evidence of arcing on the plunger.

Yes I did. Truck has been firing right up ever since I replaced them. Time will tell if that was the only thing causing my intermittent starting issue, but I'm feeling pretty good about it after seeing how worn out the contacts were and the evidence of arcing on the plunger.

I was just about to do what you did and buy a fwe kits and see if I could make it work.

You should be able to bring it to a starter/alternator shop locally and have it rebuilt for like $30. They will have all they parts they need on hand and have it back to you within days (or hours if they guy is cool). In some cases, you might have to travel a little bit, but it is well with it to rebuild your Toyota starter than to get some junk for too much money.

If you already have your starter out to take it to a shop, you might as well replace the contacts/plunger yourself. Getting the starter out is the hard part of the repair. Buy the kit, Victory Lap ND-34SOL Solenoid Repair Kit, for about $15 and spend another 20 minutes putting it in. It would take longer to drive to and from a shop lol.
