2010 4Runner Fender Flare

All,

I am new to the community and have come here seeking help. What would be a good place to find a replacement fender flare/molding for my 4Runner I have contacted my local dealer and they are telling me parts labor $400. That price includes the Part itself $150, Painting it black $150, and labor for the install. Im fairly confident I could install the piece myself as I removed it myself with no issue. Im trying to avoid a $300 bill for something small and purely cosmetic does anyone have any suggestions?

The piece im looking at is #1 in the picture below.

So my assumption is that when they refer to the part as being "Black or Body" that is a black or flat finish obviously not primed or painted?

Check my build thread for the Shrockworks slider install. In it I list the parts for both the TE rocker panel and the TE fender flares. You can also find instructions there on how to change them out.

You will need some clips and tape (number 2 in your diagram) in order to install the new unit.

Do they possibly mean "black" as in the TE black ones? I am not sure if the SR5/LE moldings come painted from the factory or not, but if they are they are usually listed by color code. If there's no color code then it's likely bare and ready for painting...

It might not hurt to do what Mr. Left Arrow guy above said and order online and have it painted locally at a reputable body shop, majority of dealers outsource their painting anyway so why not cut out the middle man.

I think I understand now the Black must be the Trail edition and body color means ready for prime and paint.
