Didnt pay MSRP, but guess if you cant wait you gotta bend over, but it had to happen and really think it is a beautiful rig, sure seems alot nicer than my '87 runner. Atleast we didnt pay MSRP or those absurd dealer perceived consumer demand fees that some people claim up to 5K, are you kidding.
Wish the limited came with a rear locker but that can always be added later when i get over my sticker shock.
This is my wifes rig. It will see LOTS of snowy/icy roads where we live and plenty of car camping in Death Valley and all over the Sierras where a serious 4x4 is not required (read: Rubicon/Johnson Valley/etc..). We have my Toyotas for that!

and YES- 40K is outta control. It is a Toyota though so hope it will last as long as my '85 and '87 i have. Ive been saving since i got those

really though- we live a distance from dealer so by the time done dealin' it was dark, ate dinner with a toast, then headed home and now I am working a 48hr shift(FF/Medic) so it is torture like a bowl of ice cream in a window display.

Rig has some amazing stuff on it. Really reminds me of the 1st gen. '06 Lexus GX's we were shopping for when this fell into our arms.

NAV. system is truely unbelievable and gonna take forever to master.

Smart key is simply cool and wicked high tech- hope we never lose one

JBL system ROCKS and the PARTY button goes boomboom. Bluetooth sounds great and was flawless easy setup

Leather is soft and beautiful, seats are very comfy esp. with the seatheaters on. Dont know how a tall guy would fit, but at 5'9" i never felt like the ceiling/sunroof height was low. plenty of travel room in 1st and 2nd rows, 3rd is definitely for kids or a short ride. Really cool how the middle of the 2nd row folds down with the 2 outside seats still up- high utility if you are a skier/snowboarder (we live in a ski town) I will show pics- promise

Full-time 4x4 does not have a heavy feel to steering at slow/high speeds. Tight steering feel, little body roll, great ride w/no harsh feel though it is not a cadillac- nor do i want one. I'll let you know what snow/ice/washboard/sand driving are like soon enough.

4x4 is HIGHtech!! Gonna have to completely reprogram myself when driving this thing. I havent tried it out for real yet- but fear not. I have heard wonders about the ATRAC/DAC/XRAES/WTF?? and know it is more than capable if you know what you are doing- it is not lock the hubs and go like an '85.

Cant wait to get sliders on this. Bumpers $oon after-must recover$$. Roofrack and a slide for my ARB fridge.

more to come -and pics prolly Mon.
Feel free to add any comments or mods. info., ask any Q's- you cant hurt my skin cuz I'm a :hiding:
I will try to keep this post updated as I go with any info. and mods we come along

Look forward to discovering the plus/minus of a 5th gen. with you all.

Congrats on the purchase. Vizulogics are great. But don't wait for them to make the matching covers, they said the same thing about the 2006+ sport edition fabric and they never come thru. Check my site for details and pics.

Oh...and Bigger is better! Go with the 9".

Toyota 4Runner 9" Vizualogic LCD Monitor DVD Headrest Rear Seat Entertainment

Kudos on your website J.A. - Probably the best I've EVER seen. :bravo:
I've used it a bunch of times already.
Now if you would just step up to a 5th and document like that........:boink:

Great pics Wildman!!:bravo:
These are the first good third row pics that I have seen.Even the second row seats are way different then on the 2 row models.
Those are better pics then the brochures at the stealerships!!

Zidaro,

Nice, I have a new limited with third row, blizzard pearl with tan interior. Same options with remote start, nav...ect....I even got a convience package that had roof crossbars, cargo cover and chrome exhaust tip. I noticed the telemark skis in the pics....and from the tags I assume California...we are skiers as well...I live in Louisville but have a place in Utah.....just left my wife's 1999 lexus lx470 out there and bought her the 4runner. I thought she would complain but she really loves it. I have only driven it maybe 3 times so far...but like it alot.

wow

I have the exact same model here in Canada. Except with standard
"dotted" running boards.

Congrats.

Comments:
Great photos.
Your daughter is extremely cute. I see 30-40 kids a day (as patients) and she's one of the cutest I've ever seen.
Your "under" shots are crazy. Great photo skilz.

Welcome! Post lots of photos! I live vicariously through you types!

ps... Why not scrap the rear dvd screens and just give her an iPad? Probably can plug it into the accessory power in the front console? No? I think the days of headrest-screens are extremely numbered. Look at the 1/2 inch OLED screens about to flood the market. Just a thought. Keep in mind, I'm no expert in anything other than fixing kid's faces.

That is a great idea and one we are pondering. Havent played with an iPAD yet, but am typing on my Macbookpro right now after years of punishing myself on a PC-- LOVING IT (had it exactly a year). aftermarket headrests are just easy and can move between vehicles(some) w/o too much trouble. Havent decided but coming soon. iPAD has no camera func. for iCHAT- prolly a deal breaker.

You an orthodontist? just a wild guess orthoboy, no assumptions ;) You must f..'n love your rig- I do

It has been almost two years since I've smelt the 'new car' scent. I'm jealous right now. Congrats on the purchase, good price too. New car scent, 42k; new car smiles, priceless.

We will also be immediately installing DVD headrests behind dr/psgr seats for my 4yo daughter and some camping entertainment. We live min. 4hrs distance from anywhere. Looked into it already and nudged a company or 2 to get going on custom headrests, as they are not avail. for 5th gen yet as I see. Anyone familiar with Visualogic DVD Headrests? Co. will have leather matched headrest DVD/monitors avail. very soon for 2010runner. Curious of quality/finish/reliability. Vizualogic® Mobile Entertainment and Vehicle Backup Systems -they are out of Riverside, CA.

Congrats , just got mine ysterday , blizzard pearl with sand beige leather with thesame options like yours , love it , I'm looking for monitors for the headreasts if you hear anything please let me know, need them for two kids, its my wife ride also but I will get my share, good luck , be safe

New to this board...not to Toyota.

Just bought this exact same setup/color...fortunately for $100 over dealer invoice...also got the exhaust tip from the C7 package thrown in at cost.

Just looking for the Canada market running boards and options for the cross bars.

Hi. I have a 1991 4runner and looking at this new 2010 4runner.

For the 3rd row seat option, when you fold the 2rd row seat, is it flat all the way? can you sleep in it? I know the 5 passengers version does,
I am wondering about the 7 passengers version

I'd be in for a Limited Nav and 3rd row just like you

a nice picture would be great. the dealer around me doesn't have any 3rd on the lot and of course the sale guy knows nothing.

thx

If ya look at the photo of the ladder in the back, you can see that it does lay flat (with a small ramp up from chest up but still doable).
There is a gap between the seats but a blanket or some clothes stuffed in there fills it easily. I'm 5'9" and barely fit.

Just averaged 23mpg on an uphill trip from Bakersfield area to Mammoth (calculator not computer) ;) not bad for a 4x4, and forgot to add-- at just under 80mph

that's impressive...
curious to see what's the calculated number is.

I looked at the toyota site and tried to configure a limited but I couldn't find the 3rd seat option.
If this specific for certain region / areas?
I am in the San Francisco bay area.

thx

Actually, the 5 seater model does not have a completely flat load floor w/ the 2nd row down. There is a slight "ramp" where the seatback pivots. The 5 passenger w/ sliding cargo tray does have a totally flat load floor. The 7 passenger also has a flat load floor w/ both rows down but the plane of the floor sits ~5" higher than the cargo area load floor of the 5 pass non-cargo tray model. Clear as mud?

Kinda wish I'd have looked harder for a 3rd row SR5 w/ premium package now. You get fore and aft sliding 2nd row seats and I can certainly think of some uses for the 3rd row when me, my wife, my parents, my brothers, and my future sister in law are all at the beach this summer. Oh well.
