Any OBD II code reader from your auto parts store will work. They are not specific to a brand or a model. The only thing to compare is available features.

Snap On Zeus+, or it's your funeral...

What is it that you want to do? Any OBD2 code reader can read/clear OBD2 codes, beyond that there is a huge range of information and features available. Any scanner can tell you there is a O2 sensor fault code; but a better scanner can show you if the O2 sensor is functioning via a wave form, and your problem lies elsewhere.

For convenience, it is hard to beat a bluetooth model that pairs with your phone, for functionality you can't beat pirated Techstream and a cheap cable.

I guess just something middle of the road would work for what my needs are, the bluetooth sounds like something I would be interested in. Thanks

Carista seems to be popular, though I have never used it. I have a cheap ($30) bluetooth one from Amazon that I use with Torque app on my phone. If you search this site for Techstream, there's plenty of guides on where to order a cable from eBay or wherever, and it will come with a copy of the actual Toyota scan tool software.
