Hi guys. Please help with advise and reassurance: was driving on a busy local road last night when I heard a noise coming from under the left front tire (or so it seemed) that sounded like I ran over an empty plastic bottle or such, smelled a burning something (can't tell what exactly) and a power steering was gone after that.
My first Toyo and 4R ever. Coming from Hondas and recently Nissan Xterra (heart). Bought the car at a Kia dealer with 90K miles about 1 month ago. Got an addn'l 2yr/20K miles warranty. Long story short: is this something that just happened to the truck? Bad timing? Reassurance part of the question is: is this still a reliable truck? Above mentioned makers had next to zero problems with them (all were bought used high mileage); thus high mileage of this truck didn't bother me. 2 starters on both hondas and zero (and I mean zero) issues on the Nissan in 4.5 years of ownership... (did replace timing chain & water pump (preventative)).
I'm not a happy camper.
