They advertise 9.5" ground clearance. My '06 was advertised to have 9.1" but it really only has 7". I wonder how much Toyota is fudging the numbers this time. Hmm........:shrug:

About the same fudge factor. The extra clearance apparently just comes from the 32" tires, although, the skid plate in front seems to be a bit higher than just the tires would account for.

I don't see Toyota having any issues selling this truck especially here in Colorado. This model will only get better with each year just like the 4th gens improved on it's shortcomings.

they need to put a solid axle up front so u can get a nice 6 inch lift in there without making it custom

I totally agree the Xterra's has one of the cleanest underbody around, if only Nissan can do something about their exterior styling, I just may consider it.

I have a B-in-law who has had an X-Terra for three years now and it has been nothing but a POS, and that's being complimentary. Name anything that could go wrong with a vehicle and it has gone wrong. Name anything that could break or fall off and it has broken or fallen off.

ughhhh the engine went out, the brakes gave up, the tranny exploded, the 4x4 quit, a bumper fell off, lights break frequently, intereior tears easily, speakers suck, exhust fell out, an axle broke..... has anything in their happened. u did say name anything.

Probably not to far of a reach with nissan. Buddy had a frontier and it was a POS too.

You must be talking about my old Heep Grand Cherokee.. that is a partial list of things that went wrong.

Hell I had a keeper compared to yours then. Three transmissions in first sixth months, A/C went out, two small electrical fires, Dash fell apart and the truck stalled whenever I floored it to pass at highway speeds !! I would do a Public Service Announcement with you man !! For the love of all that is holy don't buy Heeps !!! Better luck with Land Rover !!!

Multi-Mode is different but still there!

Well I must retract my previous statement (s)! Looks nice, I like how they put the trim back on the C pillar like they used to. They threw on 265/70 stock too. Pity they got rid of the multi-mode 4wd though. TE + SR5 wheels = sex

According to the Edmunds article, the torsen center diff is still standard on the SR5 and TE. It locks automatically somehow, which I'm curious to learn more about, but it can be driven in 4wd on dry pavement from the sound of it.

I can't wait until they're five years old and I can afford one!
