I don't think I could have been more disappointed by the new 4Runner. What an ugly, unpolished, completely unimaginative design. Apparently aesthetic qualities and ergonomics were not even remotely considered for this design. Even the engine compartment appears to have been covered with plastic trays. :redbrick: Toyota has officially made my sh*t list. :ak472:

Land Rover Ha I wouldnt take a land rover if u gave it to me. they suck!! my friend has one and it is literally in the shop once every two weeks. i would rather have an old cherokee then a land rover. but what i really want is a 2nd gen 4runner

I have to agree that from some angles it's just not right. Floorboards and mud flaps will definitely balance the look better. I'm not sure on the 20's either. I will reserve final judgement until I see one in person.

I do like the new 4Runner, under the hood it is very basic in appearance and the interior is nice, but I think it has too many gizmos for a Trail Toyota. The overall outside look is awesome I think, and the stance is nice and high like the old 1st gens. It's a 8/10, it just needs a manual transmission option it just isn't a real 4Runner with out it.

i dont like how the headlites and taillites stick out so far. looks like a indian person with those little thingys on the corner of their eye... :shrug:

Okay, after thinking about it, the ideal 5th gen would be this:
Magnetic Grey Trail Edition (color would blend nicely with all the black plastic and smoked headlights)
A set of D!ck Cepek 17" offroad wheels (which would have a nice offset to bring the wheels out toward the edge of the body)
A set of aggressive tires
Graphite colored tubular step bars (or possibly a set of real sliders)
Maybe a slight leveling lift for the front, similar to the 1" lift on the 4th gen.
That would be a good start. I'd like to see how it looks.

Yeah I know I was being a bit facetious, my buddy had his Rover in service once a month for a year with faulty door locks. They just kept replacing them with new faulty ones. I was like WTF you paid 60 K for, you can't get in or out of the damm thing !!!He eventually had to dump it at a fine loss, his wife kept having panic attacks in it !!
I agree on the 2nd Gen 4Runner, an associate of mine has one in mint condition with under 35k miles. It is everything but 4 wheel drive !!
