2010 Trail Fender flares on a 2015 Trail

I really like the look of the 2010 trail black plastic fender flares and mud flaps compared to my 2015 moldings and mud flaps. I hesitate to call the 2015 model actual fender flares it more like decorative trim.

I want to get a tougher looking fender flare and I do not like the huge boxy look and exposed bolts of the Bushwackers.

Can anybody tell me if it's an easy swap out and do they fit properly.?? And if so where do I purchase them. ?

I briefly looked a this until I started pulling up prices. Then I realized why everyone just paints theirs.

From what I could tell, all of the parts should fit, except the parts which attach to the front and rear bumpers are probably different.

The front and rear bumpers are molded in and can't be removed.

Perhaps vinyl wrap them. I agree black flares toughen it up a bit aesthetically and the vinyl would help protect the paint (mall crawler justification).

I agree that the black flares look tougher. I had them for a period of time until I was in a crash. A couple of people on here since they have new front and rear bumpers, they just bought the part of the fender that isn't connected to the car. The pieces are unpainted so they come black.

I too like the look of black flares. It reminds me of my old third gen. I decided to get pieces of my 4Runner vinyl wrapped at a local shop. I've gone on numerous trails and the vinyl is still holding up for the most part. It is starting to peel around the wheel well where it's not too noticeable.

That's interesting Anthony do you have any other angles I could look at and did you change mudflaps. ??

I think I might have been the first to do this on a 2014+ model.

You can just buy factory unpainted flares, and clear bra wrap them to prevent them from turning chalky gray, and then just matte black wrap and then clear bra wrap the rear sections to match. Easy day.

He bought his flares ! And replaced his color matched with those ! There is a whole sticky on this !!!!
