2010+ TRD Supercharger

What about intakes and exhausts? That's like $250-500 per 1hp, LOL.

But on a serious note, go try and push +50-75 hp reliably (on a Japanese motor) and tell me how much you spend; I wouldn't be surprised if you end up right around that ballpark when you're all said and done. All the little things here and there add up, and add up quick. Gotta pay to play, good sir :yo:

I understand what you mean though, when I look at those commercial supercharger kits out there for all them 'merican muscle cars (that gain you several hundred horsepower for about the same price), these TRD supercharger kind of look like a huge rip off, lol.

That's why I've decided I am not going to bother with a TRD supercharger if it ever came out. I think I'd rather invest in something with a HEMI and supercharge that :usa2:

hate to break it to ya...coming from a 2014 SRT Cherokee..all I can say is Mopar going down the drain..

I have had a 2012 srt Cherokee a 2014 srt Cherokee and a 2014 Cherokee limited,,,,ALL HAVE HAD MAJOR..build issues terrible..!

Save your money and forget the HEMI

It has now passed and we should be seeing production start as everything is in place to start bringing units to market.

Hope its true chitown...

I'm in that pile of pending customers, patiently waiting...
Poised to purchase a new 4R and waiting for the supercharger
No supercharger = no sale
My dd is a supercharged Tundra Dbl Cab 4x4
The wife's on her second Lexus ES350
Suppose you could say we are loyal to the brand

Hey Toyota/TRD group... make it happen, lets do some business :)

Works for me! I have no domestic brand loyalty here, if you say mopar suck, I'll go Ford or Chevy, lol. I just want to get a burly domestic v8 for a few years and get my mid-life crisis out of the way early. :lookout:

I'm on my second FJ Cruiser, but it's out of warranty. Was going to keep it until the S/C was announced and then get a new one. Figured it's getting close enough.

I decided to trade my FJ for a 2014 TE Premium, dressed in white. Should be here in three weeks.

Dealer installed item for it to be under warranty of your vehicle.

If you install it, the warranty is 12 months or 12,000 miles or something like that.

Ill bet with the new system and the better breathing of the newer VVTI motors that 450hp is not out of range with smaller pulleys and tuning, headers and exhaust that all complements each other using the new TRD Blower.

Having owned a car that I ran both a centrifugal supercharger and a roots style supercharger on, I can say that you would want to hold out for a roots style. While a centri does make more power on the top end, you typically aren't at 4000+ rpm in your 4runner. The roots typically has lots of torque and power gain down low in your rpm range where you would use it.

I'm hoping for a system under $4000. Would regular Toyota dealer be the place to order and have done? If Toyota dealer installs, will rest of factory warranty (I know TRD has its own warranty on SC itself) and Extended warranty be valid?

I'm calling the TRD 4Runner Supercharger vaporware.

Bigfoot will be discovered before there is a blower offered by Toyota for the 5th gen.

And if they do offer one, it won't be for the AIP equipped vehicles.

That's it. End of story.

The AIP Tacoma's have a supercharger....

Anyone have a good phone number or contact for someone at TRD that they could share with me? I am local and actually not far from Toyota NA HQ and would love to push on this topic with TRD directly. I have tried calling and it just goes through a web of call centers and BS. The more push/noise to them directly the sooner we know definitively if there is really an option here.

Take a look at the first post on this page.

The guy posted contact info. Not sure if it's legit.

Give us an update if you find something out.

I have been chasing contacts (friends) at TRD that my brother-in-law has first. Will resort to the listed contact after.

Guess some of the FJ Summit organizers are trying to get TRD to raffle off the supercharger at this year's event, but it looks like it won't be ready by then...

FJ Summit is in July...
