2010+ TRD Supercharger

Good thing you blacked out your Facebook user profile because it's not like nobody can just go the the URD page and see your post.... Mr. Coleman...

Yeah, after I uploaded it, I realized taking the 5 seconds to do that was a waste anyway. Oh well, there's my dumb move for the day

Posted a comment on URD post a couple days ago, got this response yesterday.

BLACK FRIDAY - CYBER MONDAY SALE!!!!

Use coupon code THANKS2015 for 15% off. Does not apply to things already on sale.
Whats new??
URD is now a stocking warehouse distributor for Magnuson Superchargers. We have Magnuson Supercharger Kits in stock for the 5VZ-FE 3.4L, 1UZ-FE 4.5L Landcruiser, and 3UR-FE 5.7L Tundra!! Sorry, the sale does not apply to them.
URD has finally gotten all the ECU connectors we need to make a production run of our UCON-Ethos EMS for the 2009-2015 Tacoma V6 and 2010+ FJ and 4Runner. Look for those applications to start shipping around the end of December!!! This has been a long painful process, but it is finally happening!!!
Once we have the UCON-Ethos done and shipping for the 2010+ 4Runner and FJ, we can finally put our Whipple TwinScrew Supercharger kit for those trucks into production. Yes, it is as AWESOME as you have been hearing....
Got a couple of other very cool things almost ready. Stay U-Tuned!!!

Hey URD! You can use my truck as a test truck if I can keep the setup :bigok:

From the URD site-
2010+ FJ and 4Runner - Working prototype is up and running on the test vehicle. Full production to start soon.
Base $5,995.00
2 - 10 $3,895.00

$2100 cheaper if you buy more than one?!?
Somebody set up a group buy and I'm in.

Uh oh, my wallet is scared! Because I want one!! :D:D

Does that price include the supercharger, or is that just the ecu and wiring? Under 4 grand for the whole thing doesn't sound bad if everything is included.

I'm afraid that does not include the supercharger and all the belts/pulleys/extra crap needed for a full supercharger setup! Just referencing the price @ Jegs for a similar type kit for a camaro, they're around 6200 bucks with just a programmer, NOT a complete standalone ecu!!!

Not sure, but here is the page...> URD

Has anyone asked about what, if any, upgrades/mods will need to be done to the brakes, transmission, cooling to properly accommodate a super charger on the 5th gen 4runner platform?

Also why was it that Toyota never made a supercharger kit that was compatible with the newer 4.0L engines? Didn't it have something to do with the variable valve timing of the newer engines versus the older 4.0's on the previous gen Tacoma and 4runner?

More horsepower and torque, at face value, is of course a good thing. But without the appropriate additions/mods to other parts of the vehicle, it's just a maintenance nightmare waiting to happen.

Looked again, it doesn't say whether it does or not, but I think it might, as the tacoma kit comes with everything including the Ucon Flex EMS. Pricing is similar.

It also says the "Quantity Pricing Below isn't Valid", so that $3895 may not be correct.

I'll wait a while to see how these turn out, get some folks with 'em installed and see what their thoughts are first.
