Unbelievable car. My dad just purchased one. He is replacing his BMW 535xi which is starting to have issues. I dont believe that BMW does enough R&D on their cars.

Anyway, I have never driven a car which such an intoxicating exhaust note - it sounds amazing. Its fully loaded with Navigation, Audi Drive Select, torque-vectoring rear diff. The car is an absolute rocket ship. White exterior with nappa brown interior. Audi is dumping the V8 in it next year for their new supercharged V6 found in the S4 and S5 cabriolet. We test drove the S4 and didnt like the transmission (always shifting with 8 gears) and the engine just buzzed. I was; however, simply in awe with how fast, crisp and precise the shifts were.

Best part about it....its mine in 4 years!

I think that, like BMW, Audis are beautifully engineered cars. Their interior is just fabulous. My only issue with Audis is the longterm durability...their past reputations have not been great. In addition, their handling has always been a step below BMW...but I read that the torque-vectoring diff helps with this...and thus is now available thru out the lineup. I hope that, in 4 years, the S5 will still be in good shape. With the way the auto industry is progressing at such a fast pace, I wonder if you will still feel this way 4 years from now. Amazing designs are coming out so quickly! I think that, in 4 yrs, cars will be quite advance and super fast.

That's why the rich peeps (*cough) don't keep them for a long time. I haven't yet seen a 5-yr old audi on the road.

My cousin has an '05 A4 Avant and his fiancées got an '03 A4 sedan. My cousin is planning on trading the '05 for an A6. The Avant has had issues, which of all were covered under warranty. The sedan has been perfect except for needing a fuel pump.

Only time will tell. Audi has been making that 4.2 v8 for forever. Thai, your right there will be new and exciting cars. But at 25 I won't be able to afford them and the lure of a v8 is attractive. Especially with that communist in office and the increasing difficulty in finding a sedan let alone a coupe with one.

His 535 was only 3 years old. BMW has had major issues with fuel pumps in the 5, 3 and 1 series with that twin turbo charged engine. Sometimes it wouldn't start and others it wouldn't go above 20 even when floored. It was replaced under warranty and the ecu was reflashed. It drives like a completely different car. The turbos are not smooth at all anymore. It is quite eviden when they engage, so much so as the rpms climb to redline you can feel them jump.

Still didn't keep me from getting it to 145 on the highway the other night.

Regarding the S5, if I Ed up with it I'm going to seriously look at the stasis packages.

My friend had an (04, 05?) A4 in 2006. It had so many problems. Audi had to send their mechanics (many) from West and East coast to fix it. After more than 6 months, they gave up and bought the car back.

Seriously. Anyway many people have audis without issue. Time will tell

My brother in law is buying an S5. Unbelieveable is an understatement.

Awesome! What color? I think it looks great in red, black and white. The white my dad has stands out ao much. I have never been in a car that turns so many heads.

Where is he from? Apparently in some areas of the country they are impossible to come by. We walked in, test drove the one on the floor with 8 miles on it and drove it home.

My Buddy has an 05 S4, ive got plenty of friends with older S4's and A4's and A6's. Theres nothing wrong with them.

I dig Audis. The A5/S5 and the upcoming A7 are sweet looking. Audis have always been able to hang with RWD vehicles, even in the handling department. Over time, Audi has learned how to compensate for the added weight of AWD and having the engine further out from center without excessive understeer.

I cant really speak about Bimmers but when a loaded 335 runs over 50k that's ridic.

With a new baby we're quickly outgrowing her car. The Q5 is the perfect size for us... but the Mrs is into swoopy cars... like the CC or Sonata or CLS.. labels don't matter to her.. except when she see's an Audi coming the other way! Which is why I dont dare mention the new A7!

Arrest me Red.

He's a Neuro-phychologist in Louisville.

I'd love to drive one!

Does the Audi S5 get the B&O audio system? I think that the first B&O system in the Audi A8 was not all that great, but the later systems (more toned down in treble) were better.

Yes he has that option too. 550 watts. Its decent, still doesnt sound as good as the one I put in my 4R.

Yup, i need to check the system out. I am fearing that B&O is becoming the high-end BOSE...more styling than substance. I sure hope not...they make amazing amplifiers to go along with their speakers. The speakers really play loud (esp. the tweeters!), but i got to wonder about the detailing of the song. Most of their speakers seem a bit harsh at high frequencies (again, those tweeters!)...at least their home speakers.
