2011 LE to trade for 2014 Trail/2015 TRD Pro or build?

I was considering taking my 14 right back and getting a TRD Pro. I almost took the SR5 back for a TE but I came to my senses before overpaying for a TE.

Changed my mind very quickly about the TRD Pro as well.

Mine with minimal cost and effort has better clearance, more aggressive tires for off road traction and does just fine being off road all day every day. I had to use 4 Low once. The Toytec suspension is excellent. Ride is a bit more harsh but still just fine. My last vehicle was a 2010 FJ TT.

Why would I seemingly downgrade from my 4Runner to lower the vehicle 2" and spend more on the Pro - which is basically, suspension slightly upgraded over stock and some badges/different bumper. Fresh bright paint for the cops to notice.

If I didn't have one already, Sure. I'd buy one. Since I already have a 4Runner... I just cant see it.

You don't buy a 4Runner from Toyota. You buy a 4Runner from one of the regional USA based franchises. Each region has the ability to spec the vehicles in their region how they want them, which means what options give them the most profit. Some regions have KDSS with TE model, some regions don't offer it.

If you ever have to elevate a Toyota concern, Toyota USA corporate always pushes it back to the regional independent distributor.

I hate this business model of Toyota, but it is how they set it up when they arrived in the USA long ago.

Incorrect. There are THREE levels:

Toyota OEM. They sell to

Regional Distributors. Mine is Southeast Toyota. They in turn sell to

Independent Toyota Dealers. This is where you buy your vehicle.

The Dealer specs out a vehicle and if the distributor has it fine, if they don't they order it from Toyota. You are correct on the accessories though.
This is a common business model for overseas corporations doing business in the US. Our NA company is set up like this too.
