2011 SR5 - Satellite Radio Install

Hey Everyone,

My girlfriend has a 2011 SR5 and i was thinking about getting her XM or Sirius for Christmas.

Has anyone done the install themselves and if so, was it simple or a pain?

Also, would you recommend paying the extra money and going with the factory XM parts or are the aftermarket kits fine. Below are the 2 options i am looking at.

I have the portable xmp3. I like all the atvantages that it offers. I can use it at work, in my 4runner, or in the house. I can record music for times (which are very few) that I don't have reception. I am able to tkae out of the car so it cannot be stolen. I moved it from my 03 4runner right over to my 11 4runner. Just so you have the aux jack. Just my 2 cents. Set up very easy.

Did the 2011 SR5 not come with a XM ready factory stereo? If so, why not just purchase her a subscription for her 4Runner?

I lost track of the 2011 option packages. However, I note that the Toyota build web site seems to put navigation into almost every option package for the 2012 SR5.
