2012 4Runner Limited - Nav Maps Update Process

I am the proud new owner of a used 2012 4Runner Limited. I ordered the DVD to update the maps for the Nav system. When searching through the manual and forums, I cannot find the actual process to perform the update. Nor can I find it through the menu options. There was not a DVD that came with the 4Runner I purchased.

Any help would be appreciated. Looking forward to contributing to the forum as we really like the new 4Runner.

Newbie looking to buy new 2016 SUV. Looking for inputs on 5th Gen nav system, very hard to locate info here since they lump so many subjects into one forum section.Did you two ever find out about updates?

The 2016 should come with the 2015 map. The 2016 maps were just recently introduced in November. Updating the navigation on 2014-2016 4Runners is as simple as just swapping out the microSD card behind the false microSD button on the radio.

I am going to try one of the $29 ebay discs as my dealer wants to rip me off for $280!

Previously I had no idea that it was a disc...thought it was a dealer only download.
