2012 sliding cargo tray to 2014 truck

so, I acquired a sliding cargo tray from a fellow forum member, he hooked it up! Great guy. Anyways, I went to go install it today and found that some part are different. So if anyone is trying to add a tray here are some heads up.

So the cargo tray came from a 2012 4R and I have a 2014 4R. When I went to install it, I found that the front part that need to be screwed down doesn't have a hole for it as seen in the picture below




Also, I found that the brackets that holds the rear tie down ring/storage compartment thing is different so I am unable to install it.

Anyways, If anyone has a 2014 and up 4R with a sliding cargo tray, could you post pictures of it? I would like to see how different the parts are.

The brackets should be an easy swap. But the screws up front, I don't know what the heck to do. It still works and I'm happy with it but... I dunno how important those front screws are...

So are you saying there should be a mounting hole where the red circle is in the attached pic? If so can it be drilled perhaps? Also where do the blue circled bolts go? Are they just holding the frame together or attachment points of the rack rail to the pan?

I was just looking at this tonight as someone inquired about buying my unused sliding tray. The differences and missing holes you are seeing is not because of year to year differences, the sheet metal floor has 3 different part numbers - 1 for regular, 1 for tray, 1 for 3rd row seating. You are not going to be able to install a sliding tray without drilling your own holes or replacing the floor.

I just did the install from a 2010 to my 2015. The red hole actually is threaded just below the sheet metal. So what you have to do is carefully drill it out the top sheet metal and it'll expose the threads that the bolt will bolt the frame down to. Below very careful and just slowly drill it out... You just need to drill out the sheet metal which isn't very thick.

If you look below your truck in the general area where the holes would be you'll see round metal with sealant on it. Those are the nuts... The sheet metal inside simply covers them. Once you drill the sheet metal and tighten down I'd recommend putting some wealth on it for good measure as the bolt will protrude out and exposed

Just a drill but slightly bigger than the threads on the bolt will do

I drilled holes and found the thread for the bolts. Did a horrible job drilling the holes. So I had to get washers to bolt the front down. ill take pics today and upload a little later. I still haven't gotten the brackets for the storage piece, so that hasn't been installed yet.

As you can see I don't have the storage area yet, so it doesn't look complete. Hopefully I can find some brackets. But here are pics







You can see the bolt that I had to use washers for. I used three washers and was able to secure the bolt tight. Over all I'm happy with the tray!

Forgot to mention. The tow hooks on the front (when you get the storage box piece) are different ad well and the tow hooks are what hold the box in to the brackets.

From what I gather. This is what you're missing:

These are the parts for the anchors mentioned. They're #11 on the third diagram of the sliding cargo trim pieces.

The brackets for which the anchors mount are in the first floor diagram and should be #19 or 20, but I'm not for certain. They're cheap so buying 19 and 20 won't break the bank.

Also in the third diagram, you may need that storage (#7) as well if you didn't get from the other owner.

No luck getting them from the person you traded with? Because they wouldn't be able to use any part of the front storage are as it'd look weird and gaps. Best bet is to contact them and do the complete trade. he needs your brackets and anchors as they're different.
