2013 FJ Summit - 5th Gen T4R

We'll be there of course with our 2011 TE 4Runner, 07 FJC and our newly acquired 08 Tundra with a super charger :D
 
Oh man, lots of great 5th gens this year. Unfortunately, I'm going to miss out this year =( Gonna be out of the country at that time. Enjoy everyone and takes lots of videos and pics!

I'm going with 1st Gen.

Imogene Pass to Ophir Pass Thursday 8:30
Alpine loop (Engineer and Cinnamon Passes ) Friday 8:00
Black Bear pass to Ophir pass 9:00

We'll be arriving on the 14th from Winston Salem, NC.

Just got my tech class ham license, and am really looking forward to this.
 
All this HAM talk makes me want to pick up a new hobby. I just bought a new two wheeled friend, but thankfully I got the winch put on before. Maybe next year I will have the HAM.

Can't wait I'm counting down the days (almost keep forgetting I have to go on a honeymoon first).
 
A day late

Due to other commitments followed by a family reunion in Estes Park, I'll be missing the Summit again this year. However, I will be in Ouray for a couple days starting on the 22nd. If anyone is planning on hanging around after the Summit let me know.
 
I will be in #55 this year.

Got the rest of my skid plates on this weekend and CB mounted. I am having a CB antenna mount fabricated. The CB antenna and coax are the last things to do in my preparation for the Summit.
 
Actually looking back at my confirmation it doesn't say which site I'm booked. I'm guessing it is part of the confirmation code????

I requested specific spot. My first choice was not available the full time I will be there so I took my second choice.

You can call them and reserve a specific spot if it is available.

Ya , I've got one of the Chinese Baofeng UV5RB's dual banders in Camo too.lol You definitley can't beat it for the price.
I've also have a Kenwood TH-K20A handheld and you can tell what you paid for with the Kenwood when side by side transmitting and recieving.

Can't wait 6 more days at work ,including today ,then I'm off for a whole month and driving over 5k miles with stops in Pa ,CO and UT!

Can't wait to see you all at the Summit again! I'll be there the 14th around mid afternoon .I read yesterday that Black Bear and Poughkeepsie are still closed and they hope to open them by mid July but Imogene just opened. They had alot of snow this year! Bushducks - Jeep Trail and Backroads Trip Reports<BR>Colorado Jeep Trails and Passes - Opening Dates

Poughkeepsie and the Black Bear switchbacks in San Miguel county (in Telluride) are not plowed like all the rest of the trails and are the last ones to open every season. Generally it is mid July before they open. I've seen years when Black Bear didn't open until the last week of July. It all depends on how much snow they get year to year.
 
I camped this weekend on Mineral Creek, right before the Poughkeepsie/Engineer split. Ran Alpine loop, California, Hurricane, Picayne, Corkscrew, Yankee Boy, and Imogene.

Imogene and Engineer had some 15' snow walls in a couple of spots, but everything was well plowed and very easy. I had heard Black Bear was closed, and this afternoon I saw dozens of vehicles headed UP the switchbacks from Imogene. Not even a hint of snow on that entire side of the mountain, so I think it will open soon.

A few weeks ago, when most of the trails were still closed, I saw a bulldozer plowing snow on the east side of Black Bear pass?

What channel will you have CB? You will still have CB i think even with your ham setup? Sure you will.
