2013 TE: How Can I Confirm It Has KDSS?

I just bought a 2013 TE and I was wondering if there's an easy way to confirm my 4R has KDSS.

I specifically ordered it that way, but I also know its a fairly expensive option and from what I've read some TE's have it and some don't. The TE I bought wasn't on the lot I bought it from, it was shipped from another dealer in N. FL.

Just want to be sure I didn't get hosed and yeah, since I've already taken delivery it's a bit late to be asking, but it just crossed my mind.

So how can I confirm this? Thanks in advance.

Look underneath at the front suspension. The swaybar on a KDSS model is connected down low on the LCA and has little piston-thingies on it.

1) you can PM your VIN to me and I'll run it through the TIS and it will tell me exactly what your vehicle was equipped with from the factory.

2) you can look at your swaybars. If they are freaking massive, you have KDSS.

3) It should be listed on the window sticker as a line item since it would have been a factory option.

Also, I believe when you just turn on the vehicle the orange KDSS light comes on momentarily, it's in the bottom right hand corner of the gauge cluster.

The 2nd reply to the OP, has a photo of a 3 bolt gizmo next to the front wheel circled in red.

Says that if that's visible, then it definitely has KDSS.

Just looked at mine and it has the same 3 bolt gizmo. :thumb:

Why would you leave the dealership without confirming you had what you bought?

Confirmed pretty much everything else and the KDSS deal slipped my mind. I also had kind of thought, incorrectly, that all TE's had it....but as I've learned, they don't.

I could be wrong, but I think all Cdn made TE's have KDSS. I knew nothing of KDSS when I bought my 4Runner, but had I known, I would have likely went for the TE and added leather.

I think what the OP meant to say is how do I identify the kdds on my Trail.

There have been several times since I purchased my Trail that I have had questions on how to identify something or how a feature works. Maybe I should start a thread on "Trail features 101", or "real world examples of how to use a all of the 4WD features on a Trail".

Toyota USA has a lot of 4Runner videos that are on youtube, also the manual has good explanations.
