2014 4Runner Trail - Tire Opinion

New to the Forums. I just purchased my 4runner last week and already love it! I purchased a simple 2.5" lift using the 5100 Bilsteins. I made sure that I am getting the diff drop. I just want to level it out a bit for now. In the future, I would want to get an UCA and coil overs (Stage 3 Icon lift?).

My primary issue is what tires I want. I am going to get the 285s and I am leaning towards the Toyo A/T II. I have had BFG All Terrains on most my trucks, but they are just boring to me now.

I primarily drive on the road 30-40 miles a day. But I also take my rides to Ocotillo, Glamis and to Mammoth multiple times a year.

Questions:
Any thoughts on tires?
Any thing else I need to consider with my lift besides the diff drop? I have KDDS.
Does any one have recommendations for a simple bar style running board?

I look forward to slowly building my ride and keeping it in the family for several, several years.

I've had the Wrangler Duratrac on my truck for a while and its been a great tire that is incredibly capable offroad but also quiet on the road. I decided to switch it up a bit for something a little more aggressive looking and went with the Cooper Discovery STT mud tire. To my surpise it was actually quieter than my used Duratracs, but we'll see how long that lasts as tires typically get louder as they age.

If you're not doing any rock crawling the Nfab step bar is a great addition at a reasonable price. But some people from the northern climes (salted roads) have had rust issues with them.

I recently swapped out my stock Bridgestone Duellers for some stock size Cooper Discoverer AT3s and couldn't be happier. They ride as smooth and quiet as the Bridgestones, have not affected gas mileage negatively and yielded better handling in my opinion. Just went through a couple days of flash floods and I was glad to have them. I also went with the P-Rated version. That's my .02 no charge!
