I was able to finance my home for 3.5% at my credit union so I figure, their car loan must be cheap too. I went to their website and I see their car loan rate is 2 % ...however, the local toyota dealer website offers a lower rate at 0.9% for the 2014 4runner and when I calculate their respective monthlys using their respective car online calculators , the car dealer monthly payment was also significantly lower than the credit union monthly payment as well........
Is this unusual ? or is this quiet common that car loan rates at toyota dealers is the real deal translating into lower monthly payments ?? sounds too good to be true... I' m just skeptical, after all, we have this stereotype of the price gouging car dealer...(by the way, I haven't bought a vehicle in 15 years so pardon my 'innocent questions' )

I'd be sure to read the fine print on this 0.9% financing. I'm guessing the term is short, like 24 months financing. Typically, the 4R do not have many/any incentives. Double unlikely that they would offer an incentive on a newly redesigned 4R too.
I just checked my local Toyota dealer site, and NO incentives for the 4R.
If they offered a 0.9% for 60 months here, i'd likely have a new 2014 in the driveway.

Here is some more pictures from my local dealership, the red is sexy as hell in person and I do like the Storm Trooper White too, I'm waiting to see the blue LE in person.......if it has the Brown Leather interior I may have to pull the plug......

you do know that the air we breath already has 78% nitrogen baseline.
so your basically paying $86 for 22% more nitrogen.
toyota door edge guards are $69 MSRP from the 2013 pricing.
and door cups? is that cup holders in the doors? um if that is correct, they are charging you for a feature already built into the door panel anyway.
also this window tint they are charging for? they way the other charges are, i suspect they are charging for factory tint also as another line item.
i would stay away from a dealer with this kind of tactics.

.9% is unusual, just be sure you know all the details. Often, this rate is achieved by selling the car above a typical selling price and using the difference to buy down the finance rate. Careful shopping will often expose a better overall deal by negotiating the sale and financing with the CU. Do you know that the F & I guys are among the best paid at most car dealers?
Probably front window tint. Just 2 windows. I paid $29 for pre-cut 2 ply tint on Ebay. The door cups must be protectors under the handles. BS crap. Guess some pay it?

That $86 for nitro fill seems more like they are trying to re-coup that already itemized full tank of gas you get with the purchase if you ask me.

Saw my first '14 in person last Friday while picking up a friend at the airport. It was a white LE, and it looked great - the big chrome strip wasn't nearly as ostentatious as I thought it'd be. I'm still waiting to see a TE, and I'm not sure the reaction will be nearly as positive - I'm not sure I could get past those goofy emo tears under the headlights.
On the trail the silver part of the bumper is add on. I tried to remove mine but they drill slots in the main bumper and use clips to hold on the silver part so you cant just take it off. There will be visible holes in the bumper.

i found the invoice/msrp pricing for the LE. The really odd standout is the power rear step that goes with the power running boards. The other issue is the Nav w/ JBL has a separate price breakout but the toyota brochure has it as standard equipment.

if I buy my 4runner from dealer A that is an hour from my house, can I use dealer B who is closer to my house for service/maintenance warranty repairs 'covered' by dealer A ??
...or is any 'free' or discounted service/repair agreements or warranties with dealer A not transferable to dealer B ??
whats your experience on this and related servicing/repair/warranty issues ??
Reason I asked these questions is that after I bought my current toyota tacoma 16 years ago, I only had pep boys maintain it as the toyota dealer i bought it from was too far, and secondly, now with a 4runner which is more expensive, I want to pay more attention to repair/maintenance stuff.

Some dealerships might have perks as an incentive to purchase from them or get services done. Such perks include free loaners, free car wash (once a week/month without any service being done), nice lounge and etc. If your car came with ToyotaCare, any Toyota dealership can service it. Same with all items covered under the manufacturer warranty. I purchased my Toyota from a dealership 50+ miles away due to them providing the best pricing but when it comes to service, I get it done 5 miles down the road at my closest Toyota dealership. Sales and Services are two different revenue generators at every dealership. No dealership can operate successfully without a profitable service department as it generates huge revenue for them.

Just saw a 2014 SR5 on the road last night. First one I've seen. It was mag grey I think. And I must say it looks a lot better in person. I think the front grill is easier to get used to when its a darker paint color.

Ordered my 2014 Mag Gray Limited last night. There were none available in New Jersey, so mine had to be ordered and shipped from an out of state dealer.
I'm upgrading from a 2011 Limited. I was really interested in all of the upgrades in this year's model and just couldn't resist! Can't wait to get this baby on the road. More pictures to follow
