Forgive me, I have searched and can't find direct answer. Trying to paint all my emblems black on my 2014, but can't figure out how to remove the front one. I have removeed the radiator cover but can't figure out what else to do. Looks like there is a screw but I can't get any of my screwdrivers on it. Please help. I'm stuck.

Since this is the first thread that comes up for "2014 front emblem removal" I figured I'd add in a couple pictures and clarify further how it pops off for anyone else looking to do the same. Thanks to TEQ.FZJ for pointing out that it actually does pop off from the front...

Basically, there are 3 tabs that hold it, shown in red boxes below. The top indent is actually not a true tab.

You can pry it off by inserting a small flathead screwdriver in between the emblem and the "black plastic mounting oval", but just be mindful of where the tabs are. I mistakenly thought one tab was near the center and prying there only resulted in damaging the emblem a bit. The plastic on both the emblem and oval is soft and somewhat easily damaged. I had the best success prying just to the right of the left tab, pointed out with the arrow below.

This last part probably goes without saying, but to put it back on you simply push it back on and the tabs lock into place.

Stoked on the black! I went with plastidip.

I should have left the comfort of my office chair and gone to look. I just realized what the pics are showing. Only the chrome plate comes off. I was trying to remove the entire base behind it as well.

appreciate the breakdown

SUPERWHITE,
Thanks for the info, just removed my front badge (thanks to your photos and descriptions) and painting shortly. Will post photos this afternoon!

Thanks, last question.. What kind of adhesive did you use to put it back?

By adhesive I meant adhesive on the back of double stick tape. I used the 3m stuff you can get at autozone and used a razor to make it thinner to fit the emblem.

It's glued on, so force and patience will remove it. Some fishing string will help and some goo off once the emblem is removed. My rear TEQ badge should be available in about a week.

So is that how the side labels (SR5, Limited, etc...) and "4RUNNER" chrome parts are attached as well?
