2014 Headlight Bulbs

so whats the deal whats the fog light bulb ???

Low's = H11
Fog's = ???

I'm leaving my hi beams alone maybe swap them with some cool yellow bulbs ... Wish they have Narva Golds again ...

I used yellow hella optilux in the highbeams and was pretty happy with them. Very yellow. DRL mode

I was ordering my 55watt HID's and wanted to order the FOG Lights as well but I dont know what it is ...

Owners Manual says H16 ... What the heck is H16 ?!?!?! Anyone know for sure what it is ???

I used krylon yellow stained glass spraypaint. I don't recommend HIDs at all, especially not in the foglights. Run H11 bulbs in the foglights instead

was going to run 3000K yellow HID's in the fog lights... With a cap end soo they wont blind people....
 
just order my HID set head lights and capped fogs ... Both 55watts ... I've been buying for this company since 2006 and they've always been great.

I have a set on my 2006 Toyota Sienna and have had those on their since 2010 and have yet to go dim or go bad.

H11s are 55w correct? The factory bulbs are H16 which only draw 19w. Think that might pose a problem for that circuit and wiring?

55watt isnt the draw ... they're output of the HID blast ... They pull power direct from the battery and use the bulb's power plug just for signal input.

I notice theres alot of inconsistency with the knowledge about HID's on this forum. I've been using HID's since 1998 when I first bought my first HID kit. And installed it myself.

I'm happy to admit I know next to nothing about wiring and electricity etc but it just seems to me that the higher watt bulbs would need more power than that circuit was designed to provide. Is there no concern with this?

55watts is output... not input ... it only requires a 12volts to draw. The Amps is what your worried about. The 55watt HID's; I use only draw 7.5amps max which normally the load on the headlights.
 
[MENTION=116156]TheWraith[/MENTION]... somewhat makes sense. So let me ask you this: If all things are essentially equal as far as draw goes. How do the 55w lights put out more light using the same draw?

The 2014's are H16 but all previous years are H11 in the fogs, and I checked the guage of the wiring and monitored the housing temps. It works fine. I've guessing they didn't make any changes to the wiring at all, and just slight modifications to the housing to use the lower watt H16

That's what I was looking for. I'm tracking now. Thanks. I will order the 55w.

I saw this last night though and it got me thinking I might want LED. Any thoughts:

That doesnt change the fact that you are putting hids in a housing not meant to handle that much light output, its going to glare. Post cutoff pics on a wall 25ft away. You'll see glare in the headlights and the foglights
