2014 Limited bumper "blackout" questions

Anybody know if there's a way to blackout the chrome crossbeams on the front bumper without replacing the entire bumper?

I can't see that there's a way to remove the two chrome crossbeams to replace them with black crossbeams. If there is I'd love to know how and where you found them. If not, I put black overlays on the emblems and logos, so is there some kind of overlay? I'd prefer to just replace the parts, but I'd do an overlay if I had to...

As long as I'm at it, if you know of a way to replace/cover the chrome stripe across the back bumper that would be great too.

There's been plenty of people who removed the chrome and painted or wrapped it (myself included). You could potentially get nightshade chrome to replace it if you'd rather do that. Removing all the chrome is a fairly laborious process but well worth it to do a proper chrome delete

I got a quote to paint the chrome parts, and it wasn't bad, like $650, but the guy warned me that even with a good sanding and primer coat the paint could bubble over time and I was out on that. I've decided to replace them if I can.

What's the time required for a fairly handy dude to remove the chrome crossbars and replace them... meaning how long did it take you?

I got a quote to paint the chrome parts, and it wasn't bad, like $650, but the guy warned me that even with a good sanding and primer coat the paint could bubble over time and I was out on that. I've decided to replace them if I can.

What's the time required for a fairly handy dude to remove the chrome crossbars and replace them... meaning how long did it take you?

Bumper removes in ~ 15min. All the bumper chrome is accessible from back of bumper.

I spent about half a day removing every piece of chrome and painting it (handles, rocker panel trim, rear trim, and front bar). A year in and no bubbling yet. I did learn, when I was trying to go fast, that you can use an angle grinder with a flapper disc on the chrome and it heats it up and it will peel off leaving just the plastic. Have to be careful though so you don't touch the flapper disc to the plastic. It will melt fast. If this starts to bubble or chip at any point, I'll probably replace it with the nightshade chrome and leave it alone after that
