2014 Satoshi grille... Possible?

What about if a Shrockworks or ARB bumper was installed ? Would that open up the upper section?

It would sure turn into an expensive Satoshi grille.

I will have some pics my '14 LMTD with a Shrockworks bumper posted early next week. I'd be interested in a Satoshi grille mod with the TOYOTA in chrome. Anyone even done one with chrome badging? Anyone interested in building / helping me build it?

Do you have any photos of the '14 bumper Miguelon? I just ordered mine last week.

personally on the SR5 and TE, that wide open space just looks odd if you remove the crossbar, it kinda breaks up the space. looks like a guppy or whale shark mouth. :)

on the LE if you remove that same bar, not that big of a deal, since you have that big ass chrome bar below to break up the space.

Other than a TRD Pro upper grille insert (or a DIY job) & body filler, or the somewhat more expensive (just a couple bucks more) Shrockworks bumper without the cut-out for the bean in the sombrero badge I'm out of ideas. Just not feeling it with the size of the upper grill though. Centered on the Shrockworks I could probably dig.

No worries. Prepare for some PM's once it's unveiled. I'd like your take on overall likes and dislikes.

Here are some pics of the bumper before and after switching the OEM tires. I am adding a 3 inch lift and plan to take some photos with better light.

Has I really want to slap a Satoshi Grill on there.

Looks great! What type of lift are you planning on and where are you getting it done? Just curious - I am in the Houston area as well.

Id be interested to see if anyone makes a push for this sort of grill. Its become a pretty traditional modification, but I just cant wrap my head around how it would work.

Behind the crossbar that separates the very small upper grill and the lower grill portion is a sheet metal support that plays a major role in fastening both the stock bumper shell and the upper grill, so it would be a pretty major task to work around it. Maybe just pulling the plastic mesh in the areas that it is in and leaving the cross bar would work, but wouldn't make that drastic difference in appearance that most are looking for...

Tacoma modern Satoshi

I want to make this grill for the 2014. Someone help me modify. We will make tens of dollars together on ebay! LOL.

I'm curious if any of you masterminds out there have yet thought of how one might do a Satoshi grille on 2014's?
I'm thinking about purchasing a 2014 this year... and loved the idea of the Satoshi grille. If I were to do this, I wouid probably purchase a second grille assembly to hack on so I don't damage my new ride. If it turned out... I'd just unbolt the old and re-install the new.

I've got fiberglass experience, a dremel etc... and it just occurred to me that one could make a mold from the original grill assembly and make a replacement out of fiberglass... but all this takes time... which I don't have.

I've been on the fence about getting a 2014 Limited, cause I want leather seating... but don't like the idea of 20" rims... although those look OK.
Just can't justify having car payments just yet... ouch.

A carbon fiber replacement insert might be able to handle the loads... I haven't looked at this at all yet... but it seems like it would be a fun challenge to go after.

It's freakin' conected. Try to do a "HomerTaco" style raptor grill will be difficult. I have tried chrome, bull bars, toyota letters, etc in the bottom part.. All look out of place. Maybe cut the whole thing out and do a huge "TOYOTA" across the middle. Photoshop here I come!

I got the SR5 premium. Sounds like what you are after Rossy. The lease special is awesome right now. But I like the limited grill better : (
