2014 SR5 Radio Presets clearing

I have a fix of sorts..


when this occurred to me yesterday, i had gotten into my truck WITHOUT my iphone in my pocket...which is very very very rare.

today, i got into the truck, the screen goes thru its bluetooth sync and tells me it has loaded my settings and poof...station settings are back.

so i can only guess that, when i set up the stereo a yr ago, i must have sync'd the bluetooth first, then set the radio stations, saved them on whatever level you do that...then didnt think about it again until today. the stations are paired to me...and of course my phone.

and the woman i am related to by marriage? she did say her phone wasnt sync'd to the truck the day she noticed it.

that might be worth a try for those who this has just happened to...

Hate to bring up an old thread, but I'm having the problem of the presets disappearing after the vehicle has been shut off. I have a 2014 SR5. Is there a definitive answer of what the problem is?

Does anyone know the fuse location for the constant power to the radio? I've looked through the manual and there's no info about the radio fuses. If someone has a wiring diagram they could post that would be great.

OK I think I figured it out. I recently upgraded my phone and gave my old phone to the wife. So when the new phone was paired up there weren't any stations associated to the new phone. There's a button in the setup screen labeled "driver". Apparently this is how the preset are tied to a phone/person. It was set on, I unchecked the setting and now I'm able to store presets and they stay after as power cycle. I unchecked it because when wifey takes the car she doesn't care what the presets are.


I found a TSB for this issue, according to this TSB my radio is not up to date. But in Canada there's no update available for my radio. The TSB is T-SB-0047-14 if anyone is interested. You can google it if you want to have a read.

I might try to find the US update and load it in, but it appears I cannot create an account with Toyota USA with my VIN. If someone has this file and wants to share it, please pm me.
