2014 Starts then immediately dies

Code saver

Any suggestions, other than to carry a 10mm socket for the battery disconnect/reconnect solution?

I just replaced my battery and the guy at my local autoparts plugged in what he called a code saver into my diognostics port before I disconnected the old battery. All radio stations were saved and the truck started on the first shot and Did Not die.

The truck is relearning parameters, thank goodness it doesn't act like my 05 taco 2.7l when you disconnect the battery. It acts like there is sugar in the gas tank untill you drive it for 70 miles or so, very odd an concerning the first time it happened

I don't know enough about the startability - whatever that means - , but I noticed you live in Leadville. For folks who don't know, main street in leadville is over 10,000 ft. Question for the experts: Any chance very thin air would cause a MAF malfunction - like hot humid day at high elevation would be a perfect storm of some sort?

Doubt it is the maf but could be somewhat related to airflow. There is something I've experienced before with idle air control. The ECU learns a trim for the TB at idle.

Here is what happened to me one time...
Cleaned the TB as it was all coked up with oil... Truck would not idle right for a while after this until it learned the new trim. This was not a Toyota, but the principal could still apply. There is usually a re-learn procedure the techs can do with the factory scan tool.... The trim is typically not reset with a battery disconnect.

Truck seems to new to have that problem though...My bet would be something loose. Or just one of those crazy things that happens. I would not worry much unless it happens again. There are several things that will learn themselves around a problem...
