that looks perfect. i'm still trying to learn suspension talk, so pardon the rudimentary question...
Can you tell me about your suspension setup, besides 5100 all around? Coils? Nothing out of the ordinary in the back?

Thanks. All of the badging is dipped. One thing that I am looking at is eliminating the Toyota oval on the front grille and adding a TRD Pro TOYOTA across that bar. There is a kit but so far it is expensive ~$700. I am trying to source out a less expensive option.

Sure. The 5100's in the front allow you to lift it up to 2.5" I chose 1.75" to level it to the back. The rear 5100's don't lift it at all, but they are valved different than the stock shocks (all the 5100's are ) and provide a huge driving performance improvement on and off road. This is primarily my daily driver, so I didn't want to go too crazy. Next to the tire upgrade this was the best upgrade to the rig. As my skill and ability offroad increase I will update the rig accordingly. Or as the need presents itself (I.e. update lighting for night wheeling)

That is a hefty price for a kit only. If weather permits this weekend, I might do plasti dipping (rims, badges and front grille???) Please post your future updates.

Nice looking rig. Question - did you consider air bags at all for the rear? Was the spacer install something you did yourself?

I just bought a 2016 Trail Premium and am really enjoying it so far. So far I think it seems real nice on and off road. I was pretty sure they had it available in 2015 too, but not positive.
Sounds like you have to special order the TRD Pros unless you're pretty lucky. I shopped around for one a bit all over So Cal and couldn't find one. Kept hearing 3-5 months and didn't want to wait. About 2 days after I bought the Trail Premium my local dealer calls and tells me he will have a TRD Pro within a month in the color I wanted! Ah well, I was digging the Trail so much by then I didn't even really care

Yeah, I've read through that thread. A few times. I think what's throwing me off is the price of the 5100 setup. I'm trying to convince myself that something is missing...$350 for 5100s all around...I've got a fork on my mtn bike that retails for twice that. but, i guess it also has H and L compression/ rebound damping control. Given the popularity, I assume 5100 are a good setup with good ride and handling. That's one of the biggest surprises of my 4Runner compared to my Tacomas. I wasn't expecting the ride to be as nice as it is.

I might consider airbags if I was doing a lot of towing.
I had the spacers installed while everything else was getting changed, but I've read that the rears are pretty easy.

Looks like I can get the trail premium for roughly 38-39. Hopefully OTD. I'm still waiting to hear back on pricing for a 2015 sr5 premium.
The trail wouldn't leave me with much of a budget to put wheels/lift on, vs having some extra money if I get the sr5. Really wish I could find a fairly priced TRD pro.

same debate i went through. which dealer are you working with?
I've been talking with a guy out of Toyota of Dallas. They've seemed to have the best listed prices.
I just found a 15 TRD with 16k miles. Subaru dealer has it. They want 40.

I've been shopping for a 4Runner for a few weeks, looking far and wide from my location here in the middle of California, and just bought an SR5 from them. I'll take delivery on Monday, and the shipping cost wasn't too bad from Utah to here. I couldn't find a better price anywhere, at least not without a bunch of haggling, and even then not with mileage in the teens. They people I spoke to were very friendly and helpful. They have a ton of great reviews at cars.com, too. You might find what you're looking for there.
