2015 ecu tuning or programmers

Under Dog racing has an in expensive "wire in " MAF tuner

Looking to get alittle more snap and power

I'm going to put one on my 3.4 Tacoma to replace URD FTC's. But the 3.4 is a much "simpler" engine...

Just go open source. Permanent ECU flash solves all problems (or makes more.... tuner depending)

You can't flash toyota ECU's. You need a signal modifier or total ecu replacement, IE Haltech, AEM

If I could write my own code for the ecu - I'd start in the transmission and throttle response before I did anything to engine operation. I think those to would solve all of my wishes.

I asked one of the journalists who went to drive the '16 tacoma to take a pic of the rear differential and he kindly agreed. Looks to me like it's sticking with the 8.4 rather than moving to the 8.2, but I'm not totally familiar with any specific identifiers that I could be sure about. So that likely means no new gearing options.

Haltec alone is not enough. You need a tech who knows how to tune. My G35 has internals that have run 1800 hp. My G35 is tuned to only 500hp on regular gas.

I do love my supercharged 97 4runner 3.4. I trust Gadget.

Bully Dog claims to have a tuner that works. They claim to have cracked the code. I have no idea if it works. I think it's like $800! Please buy, try and let us know how it goes.

Surprising there's not more out there for the 5th Gen , they have such
" soggy" power, my 4Gen 4.0 was so much stronger feeling

URD was very Knowledgeable , im just not ready to wire in anything, kinda no turning back then , and I would think it would void warranties

Toyotas do not use an open system. How many times do we have to say it? You can't just plug in a laptop with with HP Tuners on it and adjust engine parameters. There are a few plug-in tuners(Bully Dog) out there, but I have yet to see any concrete evidence that they work.

As far as I know the Bullydog tuner does not integrate into or replace the stock ECU, it works with the OEM ECU somehow. In addition Jesse1983 was supposed to be one of the initial beta testers for it a few years ago. He was supposed to get it in the mail, Bullydog made a big deal out of it, etc. Well, it never showed up and not because USPS lost it.

Bottom line there is nothing commercially out there that will allow you to add 30-50 more hp which is what you need to justify the cost and work. And before anyone says it, yes, Gadget has a supercharger. We all know that. He has the only one though so it does not count.

Haltech will allow you to build your own tune but yes that would be many days with a competent tuner to get it correct and not worth it without forced induction. Plus I bet there would be way too many other systems (hvac, lights, radio, transmission) that wouldn't work even with the Haltech Elite.

I love my SC'd 3.4 but do not love the split second box, antiquated at best and there are better out on the market that you can tune in real time without having to turn the truck off with every change.
