I have a 2014 TEP and recently purchased these from amazon:

Putco 270011 Nite-Lux Fanless H11 LED Headlight Conversion Kit, 2 Bulbs

It was literally plug and play. You'll really need to jam the wire and all the braided heat sinks into the small cavity in order to get the dust cap back on, but it all fits, and I haven't had any issues yet. I was a little concerned about too much heat building up in the cavity, or the contact of the heat sinks with the cable, and other items, but so far, so good.

The only thing I would suggest watching out for is to ensure the bulb is fully rotated into position (which can be trickier than you'd think due to alll the damn components you gotta jam into that small area). The LEDs are placed in a specific orientation so that the projector disseminates the light properly when the bulbs are fully rotated and locked into position; at first, one of my bulbs wasn't fully locked into position, and the light distribution definitely looked a little wonky. Just had to give it another twist to fully lock it into position, and then they were good to go

As a side note, I also installed these switchback front turn signals, which display white when the parking lights / headlights are engaged and change to amber when the turn signal is engaged. They look really good next to the LED headlights.

Can you take a photo of the lights on from the front with the white light as well as one with the turn signal on? I really think I want to do this, I hate the orange on with my HIDs and LEDs.
 
Not the best photo, but you can see the switchback's are on solid white when the headlights (or parking lights) are turned on.

Didn't get a photo with the turn signal on, but it's bright amber, just as you'd expect.

I gotta say, one of the most profound / inexpensive lighting upgrades I made was the purchase of the 1156 LED fog lights. I got them from SuperBrightLEDs.com for $23/ea (part # 1156-CW45-T). These fog lights are bright as hell @ 220 lumens. This was a *significant* upgrade to the crap-tastic stock bulbs. It was pretty tricky accessing them (especially the passenger-side bulb), but was well worth it. You actually get more benefit out of upgrading these fog lights than you will the turn signal switchbacks (although, I DO dig the all-white display).

Off subject here, but how do you like the Epic LED Light Bar so far? Does it do good lighting up a dark trail?
 
Just get a load resistor if you get any LED turn signals, and you shouldn't have the hyperflash issue. There are a few youtube videos that demonstrate how to install them, too. There $5 on SuperBrightLEDs.com, but you can get more for cheaper on ebay. I think I got 4 for that same price on ebay.

Yeah that Epic LED light bar is out-of-control-bright, half the cost of a Rigid Industries bar and has fantastic durability/reliability. If I ever turn it on when I'm on a street or road with reflective street signs, the reflected brightness is so intense off of the signs, it's almost a distraction to me!

According to the install shop I purchased it from (which is crazy-experienced with this stuff), Epic actually uses different technology in the single row LEDs to make them nearly equally as bright (lumen / lux) as the double row LEDs, and almost cost the same as their double row LED bar, as well. I purchased mine from a custom shop here in Austin, who also did the install of it into the upper grille. Although they're an RI dealer, they actually (unofficially) recommend the Epic bars, because they've never had any issues with them and are much less expensive compared to many other competitors. I have the LED bar wired to 2 different switches: 1 to turn on whenever the hell I feel like it (even when the vehicle is not on) and another that only engages the light when I turn on my brights -- this is particularly nice to have when someone cuts me off at night. In fact, some douche-bag beamer was driving like an ass-clown the other night and cut me off pretty badly. I gave him a taste, and he/she quickly got out of my lane and stayed the hell away from me after that =)

Would've been awesome if I got it wired up so that it turns on when I slam on my horn, too :-P
 
I actually have those fogs as well and love them, except they are Terrible for an actual fog light. No direction at all, just bright ass white light blasted everywhere [emoji106]

Brighter than stock? I was thinking about replacing the crud OEM fog bulbs with something making them just bright driving lights, and adding real Rigid or Piaa fog lights down low.

Just because it's bright, doesn't mean it's useful. And I say they not discounting your bars abilities - just saying. Lux is a measure of how much light created gets to the intended target, and that's all optics. Optic engineering is the expensive part, coupled with the LED drivers. Those two things are why Rigids are so expensive compared to other brands

Thanks for the reply. I used to do the same w/ lights on my old LR back in Chicago when a Cab would cut me off. I'm on Epic's site and I can't find the single row like yours so it's going to be a 2 row - are you running a 20" or 30"?

The single row bar I have is a tally a 24". It really maximizes the real-estate of the upper grille.

Hey i'm trying to install the same LED light bar in a 2106 4Runner. Do you by chance have the part number and maybe a couple more pics on how you mounted it? Thanks any help would be awesome!

Did you mount the LED bar over your grill, or cut through your grill to recess it?
