2016 LED turns hyper flash fix without resistor???

I've searched and seen a little bit of conflicting information. Seems like all the 5th gens have a sealed unit containing the flasher relay for the front turn signals. But I can't find anywhere that explicitly says how they are sealed and why one couldn't replace the relay. I'd much rather replace the relay even if it's more time. Does anyone have or have they found any information pertaining to changing the flasher relay in a 5th gen, specifically a 2016.

Why are you trying to avoid the resistor fix? If I understood correctly you're looking to replace the flasher unit with one designed for the lower current draw of LEDs?

If I'm not mistaken the flasher unit is typically integrated into the instrument cluster because in all my years at Lexus/Toyota, I've never actually seen one but the audible clicking always comes from the cluster.
 
I don't know if you can access the relay on a 2016. They sell super generic resistor harnesses on ebay if you want to give those a shot. You'll have to file off some tabs but it saves you from hacking your wiring.
 
The flasher relay is serviceable although available replacement LED flasher relays (8 Pin) are not compatible due to extra pins for 4Runners that have Auto headlamps (18 Pin). Best bet is to install in-line resistors or modify your current flasher.

I've attached a diagram of the 2010+ 4Runner turn signal flasher assemly.

Curious...

Why would you want to change out the turn signal when it is integrated into the headlight housing.
 
I have led turns in both front and rear. I have vled v3 tritons and I love them. They not only look good but the output is excellent. They have a plug in play resistor available. You'll need one for each bulb, they come in packs of two. I can get a video if you'd like.

Forgive my truck being filthy. We have quite a bit of snow the past week. I also tapped into the running lights in the rear. It doesn't affect the turn signal at all.

I have two red ones if you're interested. I don't have resistors for them but they came out of my 16 Tacoma that was totaled, which is why I have a 4runner now.

I'd like to keep the amber contrast against the red taillight, otherwise I'd be all over it. Thanks anyways.
