Since you are whining about the 4runner before you even own it, please buy the Landcruiser.

Maybe they will be nicer to you over at the Landcruiser forum.

Firstly, it's "you're" not "your." Learn to spell. We're not in Grade 2.
And, yes, I am perfect.
Second, you jumped on this forum to moan about your experience or observation, after how long a drive?
You didn't search this forum — a basic for anyone wanting information. Most members do this before posting on a topic that has already 'educated' countless others before you.

FWIW I was just recalling earlier when I first got my 2011 4runner I concluded that the throttle response was not linear. Seems like the first quarter or so of pedal travel doesn't open the throttle proportionately to the rest of the pedal travel. It took some getting used to. I think I even created a post about it on here.
Just thought I'd mention it since I think if you aren't used to it it could make the pedal feel kind of 'dead' and cause the driver to instinctively push down excessively, causing the truck to downshift a couple gears.

The Sprint Booster opens the throttle faster. Period. No HP gain, but it make initial acceleration more enjoyable. Most people on here just dislike it because it cost $280 and doesn't add horsepower. Lots of naysayers that have not tried it. People who haven't tried it and are flaming it just have no clue what they are talking about. Their too cheap to try it even though its a money back no questions asked return. 5 minute install.

Sorry and thank you for being perfect. I am sorry you are upset that I simply made an observation on the power and shifting characteristics of the 4Runner. As I said I really liked the truck and was far from bashing the truck at all. I was more curious if this is normal.

Owning some really nice autos in the past I have the ability to compare from past experiences. I just won't settle and tell myself to be happy.

I also apologize for my grammatical error. We all know how perfect Canada is. You are still an a-hole.

I went from a 3.9 and 5 spd that was rated for 175 hp to a 4.0 and 268 hp.

Sure the 3.9 had great torque down low but was still kinda peppy. The 4.0 has close to 100 hp more but the tranny shifting logic kinda stinks. Then again floor it and she moves just fine.
 
I guess flooring it and it will move but how good is that for longevity of the engine?

Guess will be years till you all find out.

Flooring it will not do anything, what will impact longevity is how high you let the RPM go. You can beat on the car all day long, and if you keep the engine within an acceptable RPM range, you will be just fine.
