2016 parking light wire location...

getting ready to install my switch pro too. So no luck on parking wire. did connect the dimmer wire to anything?

Just tap into the green and grey wires from the windshield heater switch. Green for Power, grey for ground. I know you don't need the ground, so just the green. It isn't truly the parking light circuit, but it only powers up when the parking and headlights are on. It just provides power when the lights are on. I wired in two AOB switches through this wire and it works great.

Where is this green and grey wire you speak of?

The Brains of the SwitchPro are in the engine bay

MadeInMaine - Everyone's been yelling at you to tap into switches that are inside the cab, when the "brains" of the SwitchPro is mounted in the engine bay.

On the Headlight assembly, the side marker which comes on for the parking lights has a green wire and a white with black stripe wire.
  • If you tap the white wire instead of the green, if the bulb goes out, then the SwitchPro will think the lights are not turned on - so use the green wire.
If you tap the blinker light, that may cause the SwitchPro to dim with the blinkers.

I've watched the Youtube video that bkone referenced before reading this thread and it is very detailed and well done.

I've attached the wiring diagram to help you out (with notes).

I’m having trouble finding/accessing this parking light green wire. I’ve been massing around by the battery but can’t find the headlight harness disconnect to track the wire. I’m also finding that all the wires are covered in tape and wire loom. I’d go straight to the parking light bulb but I think I need to take the light housing off which I really don’t want to do. Any suggestions?

bkone or anybody:

To ease install, is it necessay to tap the parking light for dimming function? I dont mind it being fully lit. The switch panel is going to be by my knee.

No, mine is fully lite right now. I just haven't gotten around to tapping into the parking lights for dimming.

sorry about the late response. I tapped into that green wire which can be barely seen and then applied liquid electrical tape around it.

White/black + yellow + green

On my rig, 2016 Trail Premium, the wasn't a blue wire ganged with the ground and green, it was yellow with silver. The other gang was green and white/black like OP said. I tapped the green that was ganged with the yellow and got the parking lights for my Roadshock center orange light which is what I was wanting.
