2016 running board question

I have a 2016 Limited. It did not come with running boards
I plan to add running boards, and like the look / functionality of the "OEM rigid " running boards that come as an option on the 2016 TRAIL

Question:
Does anybody know if the "rigid running boards" from a TRAIL, will fit / work on a LIMITED?
The ones that the dealer showed me look lame, and I hate them.

Thanks

Trail running boards won't work on Limited because of plastic rocker panel below your doors.

Metaltech is offering a 20% discount on their OPOR sliders right now. They will look great on your car once you get rid of the limited rims.

If you want more details as well as a way to change them out take a look at this thread.

Also if you don't want to change your rockers and aren't going to off-road much there are some nice aftermarket steps that would look good on your limited. Never used this site but good pics of what is available.

2014-2015 4Runner Limited Running Boards

I'm interested how you found a Limited without running boards. You may have found a unicron 4Runner... I've never heard of such a thing

See them all over Denver... Maybe 4Runners sell so fast here the stealerships don't have time to bolt them on and up charge for them.

BTW what's a unicron? :bluejump:

thanks for the feedback I was worried that the trail running board would not line up.
I have a limited, my son has a trail - and I like the look of the rigid running boards.
He lives about 3 hrs away, but both 4 runners will be I the same place in 2 weeks, so I will be able to have them side by side for a comparison.

I live in Boston------- a fair amount of LTD's on the lots do not have them. Some have the "auto running boards".....but those are super hard to find. I think they only come on black ones in 2016.
The dealers do ram them on to some of the LTD's------ the same dealers that stuff all the margin builders on --- Zurich wax???? 200 , crazy, other useless add on's.

I remember reading a note that described how the regions are structured and the behavior by region dictates what are the likely features combo's are---- they suggested it was tied to mkt buying behaviors???

Unicron is a Transformer.

I'm in Boston too and my 2014 limited didn't come with running boards. I'm adding them to save my seats from excessive wear.
