I have been lurking on this forum for quite some time now and decided to post an overland build on my 2016 TE 4runner. This will be a build in stages over the next few months. My fiancé and I went to Overland East last year and loved every minute of it so i connived her that we should build our 4runner for overlanding and she was all for it. We like to travel, hike, mt bike, camping and of course take the 4runner offload. I have built up jeeps in the past and in 2014 we drove my modified 4 door wrangler equipped with (456 gears, Arb bumpers front and rear. Arb lockers front and rear, Arb duel compressor, 2.5" Tera Flex lift, 35" Duratrac tires on Aev wheels) to Moab Utah to do some mt biking and some trail riding with the jeep. Coming from jeeps i have to say I am super happy with the purchase of my 4runner and looking forward to building it for overlanding. So please pull up a chair get comfortable and fallow along as I complete my build over the next few months. Well we are getting married in October then headed to NC for Overland East so i have some time, but the plan is to be completed as soon as we can to do a few test run with our equipment before we head to Overland East.

Current Mods:

3" OME lift. #2885 Medium front spring, 70-180lbs
#2889 Medium rear springs 200-400lbs
Nitrocharger Sport shocks front and rear.
FN Wheels, Dark high gloss gun metal
285 70r 17 Duratrac tires
Maxtrax
Smittybilt X20 waterproof winch with synthetic line
Hi-lift jack
Arb compressor mounted under the hood
Arb Deflator

Future Mods

RSG Rock sliders
C4 Fabrication front bumper
63qt Arb fridge with slider
Arb storage boxes mounted in the back of my 4runner
CB radio
Rear bumper, swing out with tire carrier, CBI most likely
Front Runner slimline 2 full roof rack
23 Zero or CVT tent, still undecided

So that is my complete list of mods that I want to do before we leave for Overland East in October.

I was finally about to get my Arb Ckma12 air compressor installed. Looking forward to getting out on the trail soon.

What CB are you going with and how do you plan to mount it?

Most likely the Uniden Pro 520xl. It's compact, well made, and super inexpensive at $42.99. I am hoping to mount it in the open space below the radio and in front of the shifter. If not in my center console.

I’m going to to air down my tires, (285 70 17) to about 15psi today and air them back using my Arb ckma12 and I will time it and get back later today with the results.
