2016 TRD PRO or 2016 Trail Premium?

You must have gotten fleeced on your TEP then. Even at the cheapest price I've seen a TRD Pro offered here ($42K), I still paid a whopping $5K less for my TEP. And most are hovering around $45K now. $8K buys a shitload of upgrades.

I paid 37700 for a Trail (not Premium) with Nav, KDSS and running boards. Costco seems to have saved me about 2 grand.

KDSS is the point. Its awesome. Upgrading the suspension doesn't change that.

I couldn't find even one in stock in Texas with KDSS; had to travel to Colorado.

I paid 40,787 for my Quicksand '16 back in Sept. For me it was the Quicksand color, and the decent deal on it. Made getting rid of my Limited worth it to me.

Limited is a stupid name, what does it mean anyway? Alot of manufactures use it, then Jeep says Unlimited

I always thought it was a stupid trim name too. Ford and Toyota use it for their "top of the line" (aka classier) trim for vehicles that have chrome and leather. I always found it ironic because it sounds like the vehicle might be limited in features or capability.
Of course it really means that these vehicles are limited to only the elite people that can afford one. Not a fan.

The Jeep Unlimited is actually a model of car and its respective trims would be Sport, Sahara or Rubicon

Since you have a TRD Pro on order, must be what you wanted, could have ordered anything...go with your initial gut...almost 60 years of life experiences tells me you will be happier...

It goes back to the 70s and 80s when everything sucked and less suckage could only be afforded by coke snorting Patrick Bateman types--these were built in limited amounts and had extra storage for video tapes.

Jeep calls theirs the unlimited, because it's the un-4runner Limited (the 4R Limted being their main competition), and it sucks.

To Pro or not to Pro? That is the question....

Let me preface this with being an employee of your favorite SUV manufacturer, cost is not an issue. For me it came down to capabilities. Since most of my colleagues have the same benefit and off road interests, I spoke to folks with the Trail ED. The pro's of being an employee means free/low costs for cars. The con's of being an employee means nothing but OEM can be done to the car. With that being said the Trail ED is a great vehicle but the tire choice made it difficult to take advantage of all the off road technologies and capabilities. For me I have chosen the TRD Pro which should arrive next month for me.

The real question is:
Do you pay extra and wait extra time for a TRD 4Runner?
or
Do you buy now and possible buy new set of rims or tires for capabilities?

.....are you saying that because you work for Toyota, you can only use the stock tires on your own personal car?

That sounds utterly ridiculous.

And if so, couldn't you just swap the tires to the Nittos that come with the TRD since they too are OEM?

If you purchase it which is the low cost. You can do whatever you want to it.

If we chose the no cost option. Which is an allowance to lease a vehicle, then it must remain OEM. If you change/modify anything then you must return it to original at the end of the lease. Any serious modification can void the lease all together.

So why lease? Well the only thing i pay for is gas. Title, Insurance, Maintenance and repair all paid for by Toyota.

Pay for gas? or Pay for everything else but freedom to buy new tires?

I choose pay for gas.

Wow....that sound like a great deal to me. What's the length of a typical lease? Do you have the option to purchase the vehicle at end of the lease?

I can't disagree with your choice there regarding the lease.

I do think that if you were only buying the TRDPro because of the tires, you're making a mistake though.

You can swap tires out in an hour. Not much time over the course of a lease.

You can lease for 1,2,3 and 4. There is an option to buy with a discount for mileage against the first $30K. It is an amazing benefit which i fully appreciate to the core.

I choose the TRD Pro as it was the most off road ready vehicle off the show room floor. Meaning I can get about anywhere with out doing non-OEM stuff to void out my lease. I will howvever, Plasti Dip my hood matte black and a rock sliders are a must. Bolt on sliders that I will remove.
