2017 4Runner TRD Off Road Premium (my 5th 4Runner 83-2017)

Hi everyone,

I'm not really a new member and have only posted a couple of times for help with minor things. Yesterday I traded in my 2013 Limited 4x4 Black on Tan for the new 2017 off-road TRD Premium - obviously 4x4. The trim package is amazing! The suspension and interior are to drool over. This is my 5th 4Runner 1983-2017. I never thought I'd buy a brand new one in my life...but it happened! I haven't had a chance to tweak it or play with the suspension just yet. I can't wait to test out the the off-road capabilities. Any advice on upgrades or ideas welcome!

I found this part inside. It's in a plastic bag and has two screws with a Japanese piece of paper. I can't figure out where it goes! lol! I called the Toy dealership but they don't have a clue either.

Can anyone help a girl out? Pics of the new TRD below :cheers:

The state I used to live in required front and back license plates also! Thanks! What color did you buy your wife?

For the past two years, I've had a thing for white exterior/black interior. I had to have it. My previous two limited 4Runners were black. I'm super stoked about everything this trim package has. I want to get some nerf bars for it.

Front license plate frame. Most front end pics of a 2014+ will show exactly where it goes if necessary in your State.

You mount it on the silver garnish on the front bumper. You'll see two indentions where you screw it into. Should be able to do it with just a screw driver, no drill needed.

Consider yourself lucky they didn't drill up your bumper and put on the freaking ugly front license plate bracket.... I made damn sure the dealer didn't butcher my Pro with one. The salesmen took it out of my 4R before it went through PDI to make sure they wouldn't put it on. My state still requires a front plate, but I have run without one for yrs on my last six or seven vehicles without issue.

Just bought my first 4R, a 2017 Off-road Premium, too. I replaced a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee that caused me nothing but trouble. So far I really like the ride of the Toyota. I'm waiting for some Konig Countersteer Type X wheels and BFG KO2s to arrive next week, then I'm off to have a James Baroud rooftop tent installed before a 10-day road trip to really get a feel for the vehicle both on and off road. Can't wait to put it through its paces.

These 4runners are so smooth and excellent to drive. My best car purchase so far!

Yeah mine has KDSS. I'm going to add either some spacers or go with the 5100s all the way around. I'm leveling it because the front is pretty low stock. I like the level look on the 4runners. I wont go higher than 2.5 in the front, 1.5 in the back
