Anyone know how the snow is in Big Bear and other high elevation places in SoCal?

Pics please!

@GVL

I see that BB is about to get a big storm the rest of this week and through the whole weekend. I'd like to hit up some powder on the back roads.

Looks like it'll be snowing starting tomorrow till Sunday. With a chance of slight sunshine on Saturday. I'll be there next week. I'll report in when I get back but I doubt there will be any snow when I go.

Just went out last night, In Holcomb Valley there's currently a foot of snow in most spots and very deep mud puddles throughout the valley. The puddles have been icing over night, with some having the ice getting a few inches thick. Definitely be careful while going through any as they can do damage to your vehicle. I had one dead stop the vehicle because the ice was so thick that I couldn't break it with my tires

Haven't been to GVL in a few weeks but I know they've already closed down most of the area, so 3n16 is the only open route there I believe. Downed trees are usually a problem over there so beware. I'll text Tim to get on here to give you guys the full report later

Just went up on Saturday, once you get about the 5k ft range it gets pretty deep and powdery! Start early am because we got in a pretty hairy spot around 5pm with lots of ice! Be sure to bring recovery gear and a shovel!

Bump. Trying to see what local trails are open for this weekend. I wanted to do Frazier Park/lockwood Creek Trail but I think it's closed.

Any other suggestions for snow filled trails?

up in angelus oaks 1n12 is open
it starts at hwy 38. the first few miles right now are mud and dirt but as you gain elevation it starts turning to snow. its about a 15 to 16 mile trail and its pretty fun. the snow gets about 6 inches so its not to deep but just enough. theres good traffic up there too especially since its been seeing alot of snow this year. ill be out there either saturday morning or tuesday morning ill report

Snowing at 5,000' on Mt. Baldy today as of about 1 pm. Chains required, about 30 minute wait to get past chain controls.

Post up pics if you don't mind. You guys are meeting up there, supposed to be a big snow storm by afternoon.

"Snow" storm? Ha. Its all rain right now. Making the other 3 feet of snow slushy and all the cars sink in. We've all been getting stuck, including the locals. I don't recommend anyone coming up to right now
