2017 TRD Offroad engine tick/knock?

I’ve used Mobil 1 in the past and notice that the engine was a little louder with it compared to OEM oil, especially on cold starts.

Toyota oil is made by Mobil.

I run Redline Oil in all of my high performance stuff. I may try it in the 4Runner and see how it's does. I'm an oil fanatic. LOL I've probably done 60+ oil tests on 10+ different brands of oil with Blackstone Labs. In different stuff of course.

WAIT!!!!!!
These engines are supposed to sound like this?

I need to stop putting motor honey in it then..........

Please note sarcasm

My 2011 with 129k miles ticks. When I bought it the dealer told me they all do that. From my research and confirmed by pretty much everyone in this thread, it's normal.

Well I've finally learned to accept my noisy tapping ticking engine and diesel sounds!
I have never owned a new 4x4 before I've allways owned old ones and I guess my expectations where the new ones would be more refined and quieter - my old jeep 4.0 made less noise than my 17 4Runner.
It's a Toyota and I hope it will continue to make its noises and do it for a very long time.

Thanks all for the info on this :tea:
