Hi, my name is Brandon and i've been lurking on T4r for the past 2 years. Recently I have decided that I should document and share my progress with my build. This is my 2018 MGM 4Runner TRD off-road Premium build thread. My intent with this vehicle is for it to be a weekend brolander / tow rig for track days (BMW M235i).

Modifications

First Day



Three weeks later (Suspension, Wheels, and Tires)
I told myself I would refrain from modding this car until at least a year into my ownership. Yeah, that lasted a good month. I did Wheels, Tires, and Suspension within a month.



Hidden Lightbar Install
Bought a 32" lightbar from Amazon and mounted it with the Rago Fabrication Hidden Brackets.



Metaltech OPOR

I recently found some Metaltech OPOR rock sliders on Facebook market for $175. The owner didn't know what brand they were and just wanted them gone. One mans trash is another man's treasure I guess.

Adventures

Trey Mountain 2017

A few buddies and I decided to try this "off-roading" thing for the first time and hit up Trey mountain about 10 minutes north of Helen on the Georgia Traverse.
Not bad for a completely stock 4runner. Didn't have to use 4wd at all going down the Georgia Traverse.





Trey Mountain Pt.2 2018 after Lift/ Tires

This time we decided to tackle Trey again but with upgraded suspension and tires/wheels.

They are from Amazon. Tyger Auto side steps. I put Grip Tape on the steps to cover up the tacky Stars that come with em. I Recently bought some Metalwork Sliders, but have yet to install them.

Nice build man! In an earlier response, I saw to regear to 4.88. With the 285s, a regear isn't necessary is it?

Thanks! love your rig too! With 285s not necessary at all but, knowing me I'm probably going to go with bigger tires in the future. Maybe 305s? I'll need a regear then.

They are metaltech OPOR (outpost off road)
They're a popular choice for landcruisers.

I've had mine for a few years, and they're great. I took them off a couple years ago to sandblast and repaint, and they look(ed) just like brand new.

AND--- metaltech is an awesome place to deal with. Great customer service.
