here's a quick video I made of the tube bumper.

You should, it will not be there much longer. We are finishing up and tweaking some things.
Yesterday we decided that since I had a winch lying around from my LC200 we should do something with it. Therefore a new rear tube bumper with winch mount. It's tucked back as far as possible. The tube will only come out as far as the rear most point on the hatch.
My ARB front and LFD bumpers will be cleaned up and listed for sale very soon. someone can have a very good deal on them.

The new rear tube bumper is just about done. When it was started we cut out the second to last stock crossmember and only have one stock crossmember left. The rest are all overbuilt very stout cross members and a combination of tube and plate.
The new bumper has 3/8" plate 3.5" x 3.5" gussets across both sides. Then .188 and .120 wall tubing just like the front. A 3/8" plate across the frame chop and 8" gussets beside the winch. Finally 6 tubular supports to the frame of the truck as well.
The winch is removable when the hatch is open and is tucked back in as far as possible.
Between the new front tube and rear tube bumpers we have removed around 11.5 to 12" in total length. Naturally my approach and departure angle are even better now.

Here's a video of my new rear tube bumper. As luck would have it, I was out at Black Mountain in Harlan KY yesterday and used the rear winch twice; once for myself and once to pull another person up a big rock ledge. Hopefully I can acquire some videos of the big walls I climbed and share them here.

Haha. I've driven it short distances on the road but with these stickies it's not fun especially in the summer. If I put different tires on it, it would be fine up to maybe 55 or so past that steering may not be much fun. It's not a race car and it rarely gets much above 5 mph even if I hit the rev limiter on occasion.:lmao:
It's all coming together now.
Below you can see the 8 points where the cage bolts through the roof and is sandwiched between two pieces of 0.188" steel. The B and C plates will be tied to the internal cage. The exo A pillar already mounts to the frame and the D will also go to the frame.
That bar on the bottom of the windshield was a pain. In the end we tried three times and nailed it for the third time. The first time had three bends and hit wipers badly. The second half 5 bends and barely hit the wiper. The final and beautiful work done has 7 bends and follows the lines on the hood beautifully while staying close to the windshield. Who knew the wiper arm is steel but the mount to the motor is cast aluminum. Had it been steel we would have modified the arm.
